For the past few weeks anytime I use Pandora after a few seconds of a song play it will cut off as if I have press pause and when I go back to the app it opens up as if I'm logging on for the first time.
This happens wither Im on wifi or on mobile data. My phone is an LG Stylo 6 and the version of Pandora I have is version 2007.1
I have restarted my phone cleared the catches and data on the app. I even have uninstalled Pandora and I still have this problem. I even made sure that it it wasn't my battery saver cutting off the app. I did not run into this problem until I upgrade to Pandora premium.

This is all of a sudden happening on my android. What has the last update or bug fix added?
Hi @Pmannix25
Since this issue is on your Android device, I moved your post over to the Android space onto this existing thread: Playback stops when screen locked or app backgrounded.
Let me know if this helps!
Mine is doing same all of a sudden. I'm on my Samsung 21 phone. Music just stops. No error or anything. I open it back up and it starts back on a new song like it just opened for the first time
@BethS I moved your post over to this existing thread: Android: Stops When Screen Locked or App Backgrounded
When updating the OS on Android devices, the battery optimization on all apps may be automatically turned back on by default. This can cause performance issues or interfere with playback when the Pandora app is in the background.
Please try the following steps to see if they help:

I just started having this problem as well. No changes to any settings that I know of. Pandora pauses after playing a few songs. Always at the end of a song, pressing the play does not get it back. Closing and restarting works. I have a Pixel 4a

@Jim__H I'd like to report your issue to our engineering team. Can you send over a bit more info about your device?
Are you connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data when this is happening?
Have you identified any other patterns or notable information?
Let me know what you can find out.
I'm having this same issue as well. It doesn't give an error. It just turns off if you leave the app after about 30-45sec. I used to be able to do just about anything and it would play in the background, now nothing. I use an android galaxy s23+

Pandora is pausing after every song when my phone is locked. I've given the app all permissions, unrestricted battery usage, uninstall/reinstall (twice) and verified all settings again, restarted the phone... On short everything I've read. No dice.
It's been happening for 2 days. I have a premium subscription.
Anyone else? Anyone have a solution?
@MarcD I moved your post over to this existing thread: Android: Stops When Screen Locked or App Backgrounded
Since it sounds like you already ran through the suggested troubleshooting steps in the accepted solution to this thread, can you please tell me a little more about your device?
I'll need:
Are you connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data when this is happening?
Have any error messages popped up? If so, what exactly does it say?
Thanks for working with me on this.
Model: Galaxy S20 5G
Carrier: Xfinity Mobile
Android version (Settings > About Phone): 13
Pandora version: 2304.1
WiFi/cellular? Both
No error messages whatsoever. It gives no indication of error or crashing.
The only change from the normal use was using the app on my tablet the other night instead of my phone.
Thanks for the follow up, @MarcD.
It may be helpful to check your sleeping apps too using these steps: Sleeping Apps
One last question - could you confirm how you're listening when this happens?
Are you listening to an individual songs, an albums, playlists, or a station?
Appreciate your help with this! 🎧
Checked sleeping apps and that toggle is turned off as the instructions say.
It does it when listening to albums, playlists, and stations.
Today it seemed to have trouble connecting, too.
Thank you for the additional feedback, @MarcD. I've added this to an internal ticket for our tech team to review. If you notice anything else, please don't hesitate to let us know. We appreciate your patience during this process. 🎧
Sure, no problem. I hope you guys fix this! I moved over from Amazon prime music unlimited because the app sucked. I'd hate to have to drop Pandora for the same reason.
I can start Pandora and a song will start. After my phone screen locks, Pandora continues playing the current song, but when the song ends it will not continue to the next song until I open and unlock my phone. As I unlock the phone Pandora goes to the next song. I have checked all permissions and battery optimization settings, but to no avail. Is there something I may be missing? Thanks in advance.
