So I read that this seems to happen about ever 6 months or so on this thread. Well now it's happening to me. Doing everything from turning off wifi and back on again to even Uninstalling the app and putting it back on doesn't fix it more than when I close the app and reopen. I pay for the service and if it can not be resolved I can go to other services. I have only stuck with Pandora because it will take hrs to build my Playlist back up again. Please any suggestions?
Pandora Update: 5/18/23
Hello all! Thanks for your reporting your experience about receiving a waiting for connection error on your Android. The community team has been notified that this is believed to be resolved with the latest release - 2304.1.
Here's how to update the Pandora app on your Android device:
In some cases, you may need to restart your device to update an app.
If you continue to have trouble after this update, please try signing out and then back in.
I just got a new phone. I am getting the WAITING for connection error. I have tried all the above steps no luck.. I even uninstalled it and reinstalled after deleteing all cache and stored data. I went in to permissions and made sure it was all enabled still no go.
Anyways Pandora has ben pushing multiple commercials between each song lately as well as playing the same songs way too much. Asking me if I am still listening every 3 to 5 songs. My play list were good, but I guess this is a good excuse to use another app for a while.
If you got something else to try I am willing to give it a shot, but at this point I am already using iHeart for now.
@benton386 I definitely understand your frustration.
I'd like to report your issue to our engineering team. Can you send over a bit more info about your device?
Are you connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data when this is happening?
Have you identified any other patterns or notable information?

DOES NOT SOLVE IT. I have done the recommendations, read the articles, deleted and reinstalled, clear cache, have the latest update, etc and etc. the problem has spanned system and safety updates, so it’s not there. Still I get a can't connect message box and after three or four tries, finally a connection then it takes its sweet time loading. Finally loaded the first song up buffering takes too long. I had a case, replied with the data requested, then my case was abruptly closed. Started another case. Let’s see if you have a solution, @TannerPandora. Frankly, since it’s apparently been a problem for at least a year with what appears to be no solution, it disappoints me that I may have to close my over a decade account to start all over.
LOL stil nothing. At least I have all these other streaming sources to use. Honestly it seem to be a blessing you guys were repetive asf. Then the commercials were getting out of hand. Not only was it too much, but this lbgq push agenda was the reason i smashed the last phone that was working with pandora.
Pandora fixed my problem long ago and it's working fine for me now!!!
You probably got a new phone. I got a new phone and Pandora dont like this one. I am sure when this phone dies it will work on the next phone. Pandora is not worth buying a new phone.
Either way kind of glad it dont work. It forced me to try other platforms. The 3 commercials back to back every song, and same songs repeated every 3 or 4 songs got old. No matter the station it was the same songs. Even songs that are not even in the same genre.
This instruction is incorrect
"Manage apps & device" option does not exist at this location.
It does not say manage apps
Got a new phone cuz other one was damaged. Likes this phone. But I quickly got reminded why the other platforms are better... The commercials play over top of the song. Sometimes its up to 3 commercials, almost always 2. The song is well past the intro by the time its over.
Do this a few times and I end up switching back to one of the competitors. they each have their pros and cons.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra through Verizon and just within the past week my pandora will only work normally when im connected to wifi but while on my drive to work and im on mobile data it usually never loads and always says waiting for a connection but i can load up youtube and play music through that. Ive tried signing out and back in, clearing data/cache, and tried uninstalling and reinstalling and so far no change. Ive tried searching forums and anywhere I can to hopefully find a fix and still no luck. I primarily use it for when im driving and im paying for a subscription, but if i cant manage to get this fixed im gonna have to cancel and move to another provider.

The only solution i know is to get a new phone.... You guys never resolved it with me. The issue resolves itself when you get a new phone. These replies are a waste of time...
