Pandora Update (11/22/2024):

We appreciate everyone's patience, and understand that these issues around Apple CarPlay have been frustrating and disruptive to your listening experience in the vehicle. Our engineering teams have been working diligently to resolve this for all impacted listeners.

We're happy to announce that Pandora version 2411.1 for iOS should resolve the following issues with CarPlay:

  • Listeners who experience trouble with stations loading in the Recent tab.
  • Listeners who experience an error message "There was a problem loading this content".
  • Listeners who experience loading issues with songs within a playlist.
  • Listeners who experience the screen not automatically transitioning to the Now Playing screen.

We recommend manually updating to the latest version (2411.1) of Pandora by visiting the Apple App Store on your iOS device and using the below steps to update.

How to manually update apps on your iPhone:

  • Open the App Store.
  • Tap the My Account button or your photo at the top of the screen.
  • Scroll down to see pending updates and release notes. Tap Update next to an app to update only that app, or tap Update All.

In some cases you may need to refresh the page in order to see the update. After updating to Pandora version 2411.1, please try Pandora with CarPlay again and let us know if you're still having trouble.

Please use your mobile device in your vehicle only when conditions allow and as permitted by applicable law.

Nice to see you finally woke up and said something. It’s only been over a month. Do you have an estimated date for the fix?

Thanks,
KenX

Same problem here.  Starting to look for alternative streaming services.  Ridiculous to take this long to fix such an issue.

I am only going wait till the end of the year for a fix. Then I'll be switching to something else. I don't want too so get it fixed already.

My Dear fellow Listeners... Pandora is a MULTI BILLION (3.5) dollar company, They don't care about a few thousand out of the 46 million listeners... their profit is about $650 million (+ or - a few million) a year for the last 4 years. They are not going to (or even try to) FIX ios-18 CarPlay. (Its been broken for 2 months)

You have 3 choices, 1.Fix it yourself (they know you can't), 2.Get a different service (they don't care), 3.Don't play music in your car (up to you).      ((Bonus choice::: switch to Android phone))

Thank you Pandora

I can confirm this issue on my 2022 Toyota Sienna and 2024 Honda Accord Hybrid. Running iOS 18 and Pandora 2409.1.

My workaround:

I have had the same problem with iOS 18.1 and CarPlay.
I use CarPlay to select the station as always.
Since it will not load the graphic, I use the facility usually reserved for the Bluetooth connection which uses just text for song details. While this screen allows you to do skips, I use the steering wheel buttons to skip because it is safer than hunting around for the small screen button.
Functionality lost includes thumbs up/down
and cover art display, but at least I have music.
Eventually I will drop Pandora if it is not fixed.

Having the same issue after the recent update. It keeps showing 'Content could not load" and not showing  the song that is playing.

When will a fix be released from dev to resolve the issue?

Same issue here. Nothing works as a fix. Been using Spotify. Please fix this or you will lose all your customers.

Like others have reported, iOS 18.1 has not relived this issue

Any takers on whether Pandora will fix the issue before Sonos fixes the last of the problems their "upgrade" caused?

  1. I would agree that there not going to fix this problem. I will give it till end of the year then I have Spotify in the works. I have to pay more but the sound quality is suppose to be much better.

Press OK to the error, then the triangle in the screen upper right.

That's what I've been doing all along.  It should not be happening in the first place.   Not that sometimes even the 'favorites' will not load and need to go to channels and then select the station again.  Overall the system is quite buggy.

I didn't give it up yet. They have until the end of the year then I'm gone. On to the next.

So Carplay no longer works on my 2023 Mercedes. I did delete and reinstall Pandora but the problem persists. It plays via Bluetooth but not Carplay in the car.
