Pandora Update (11/22/2024):
We appreciate everyone's patience, and understand that these issues around Apple CarPlay have been frustrating and disruptive to your listening experience in the vehicle. Our engineering teams have been working diligently to resolve this for all impacted listeners.
We're happy to announce that Pandora version 2411.1 for iOS should resolve the following issues with CarPlay:
- Listeners who experience trouble with stations loading in the Recent tab.
- Listeners who experience an error message "There was a problem loading this content".
- Listeners who experience loading issues with songs within a playlist.
- Listeners who experience the screen not automatically transitioning to the Now Playing screen.
We recommend manually updating to the latest version (2411.1) of Pandora by visiting the Apple App Store on your iOS device and using the below steps to update.
How to manually update apps on your iPhone:
- Open the App Store.
- Tap the My Account button or your photo at the top of the screen.
- Scroll down to see pending updates and release notes. Tap Update next to an app to update only that app, or tap Update All.
In some cases you may need to refresh the page in order to see the update. After updating to Pandora version 2411.1, please try Pandora with CarPlay again and let us know if you're still having trouble.
Please use your mobile device in your vehicle only when conditions allow and as permitted by applicable law.

Hello,
I have the latest iPhone update and an Audi. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. Now it's not even an option to add to my carplay list. Prior to that I was having the same issue as everyone else, content not loading at all. So now it does not work at all in my car.

Thank you
And I also mentioned the Apple Car Play. I noticed changes to how it performs about the same time I started to get this error at work. And at times get connection error, although it still plays fine. The display has changed and maybe it is 2020 Honda tech interacting with the newest Pandora version. It does say something like "loading" or "working on it".
I appreciate being heard.

I have tried everything I can think of to solve this problem. I have an iPhone 16 with iOS 18, and Pandora will not cooperate with Apple CarPlay. It is so frustrating! I can get music to play by launching Pandora through my phone and can skip songs using the button on my steering wheel, but I cannot view the current song playing, and it gets very glitchy when I try to switch stations. I have deleted and reinstalled the app from my phone, checked that I am using the most recent update, and deleted my phone from Apple CarPlay and then re-added it. I am a paying subscriber and primarily listen to Pandora in my car. This experience has me strongly considering switching music providers when my Pandora subscription is up for renewal.

Yes it sure is taking a long time for Pandora to find a resolution to this problem. I just hope they figure it out sooner rather than later. Very frustrating indeed! Fingers crossed!!

Me too. Thanks for all the folks who tried all the troubleshooting steps — saves me going down that dead end. Hoping Pandora gets this fixed soon.

I found a partial workaround to the problem. It works on my 2021 Toyota Highlander Limited, but I suspect it will work on any car that has an audio input labeled "Apple CarPlay".
- Start Pandora from your phone.
- Connect your phone to CarPlay if not already done.
- Music should be playing through your car's speakers. If it isn't, go to the "Audio" menu input select screen on your car's infotainment system and select your iPhone as an audio source.
- Launch any CarPlay app other than Pandora. I use Google Maps, but any app should work.
- Go to the "Audio" menu on your car's infotainment system. Tap the "Apple CarPlay" audio source.
- Hopefully you will see the Pandora "now playing" screen.
- If you see the Pandora station select screen instead, repeat steps 4, 5, and 6.
The photos are what I see in my car for steps 5 and 6.
Hope that helps!

Or just listen to Sirius XM. It’s the same music, same company as Pandora. Pandora gave me a month’s refund after asking for one.

Same here! Arg.
I deleted the app, removed it from my CarPlay and then restarted my iPhone.
Then I readded the app and readded to my CarPlay. Pandora does work, BUT I still get the notification on Loading. So it’s kinda working. Not as it should, but now I can use it.
Thanks much,
Eve

I am having a problem with my VW Atlas 2024. Updated to iOS 18.1 and the content message comes up and it plays different songs from different stations. For instance, when I hit the Journey radio, Christmas songs start playing.
