iOS: Disable autostart when connected to stereo through Bluetooth

Thanks for getting back to me, but that isn’t exactly what I’m referring
to. I can swipe up and close the Pandora app on my iPhone but it will
automatically launch and start playing again once it’s connected to my
Bluetooth device. I want that to stop. I only want the app to start
playing music when I manually open the app.

Thanks for explaining @Khal ,

Can you tell me to which device is it connected through Bluetooth?

In the meantime, please try the standard iOS troubleshooting steps and let me know how it goes.

This morning in particular it was a DELPHI DEA500 radio (has no CarPlay
capabilities). It started playing music 4 times in a row after repeatedly
shutting it down.

Thanks!

You can disable the option to launch Pandora by using the following steps:

  • Open Pandora.
  • Tap Profile.
  • Next select the Settings gear in the upper right corner.
  • Tap Advanced.
  • Under Bluetooth for devices uncheck the box next to Launch from car.

Then shut down all apps on your phone and restart your car.

If you continue to have trouble, I recommend contacting your dealership for further assistance as it is sometimes possible to disable auto-launching directly from the entertainment system.

Hope this helps.

I was working with people from a different thread I piggybacked on and decided to create my own.  If I listened to Pandora in my vehicle one day; over the next couple days, it would start playing music as soon as my phone connects to Bluetooth.  This occurs even if the app has been shut down appropriately.  I’m in a vehicle that doesn’t have CarPlay. The radio is a DELPHI DEA500.

i just want this to stop. I only want to listen to music when I start the app.

@Khal To keep things organized, I moved your post to the existing thread: iOS: Disable autostart when connected to stereo through Bluetooth

I'd like to report this issue to our engineers team. What is the make, model and year of your vehicle?

Have you identified any other patterns or notable information?

No, I haven’t noticed anything other than the auto playing. This is in a 2019 International LT.
