Hmm in my case, my name is after both of my grandmas, but I do have a friend from when I was on elementary school that was named after the song Angie by the Rolling Stones.

Which song inspired your name?

Hi, I wasn't named after this song, but I like this song that has my name in it:

Hunter by Björk

And I have a friend whose parents named her Lucy after the song Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds by The Beatles.

@SinBadAngel38, here are a couple of fun facts I will share here.

• “Candle in the Wind” → Kate Moss Elton John originally wrote the song about Marilyn Monroe, but later versions and tributes inspired Kate Moss to pursue modeling and eventually music collaborations. Not a perfect match, but a real influence story.

• “Hey There Delilah” → Delilah DiCrescenzo She wasn’t a musician at the time — she was a runner — but after the song blew up, she became a public figure, speaker, and media personality. Not a singer, but definitely someone whose life changed because of a song written about her.

• “My Sharona” → Sharona Alperin. She became a well-known real estate agent and later worked in music-related business circles. Again, not a singer, but a real case of a song creating a public figure.

These are artists or bands who took their name directly from an existing song.

         Rock / Alternative

  • Radiohead — named after “Radio Head” by Talking Heads

  • Blondie Redhead — named after “Blonde Redhead” by DNA

  • After Forever — named after “After Forever” by Black Sabbath

  • Boris — named after “Boris” by the Melvins

  • Death Cab for Cutie — named after the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band song

  • The Rolling Stones — named after Muddy Waters’ “Rollin’ Stone.”

  • Ladytron — named after “Ladytron” by Roxy Music

Metal / Punk

  • Bad Brains — named after “Bad Brain” by the Ramones

  • Bonded by Blood — named after the Exodus song

  • Children of Bodom — named after “Lake Bodom” (their own later song, but the name came first from the legend)

Pop / Electronic

  • Veruca Salt — named after the character and the fictional song in Willy Wonka

  • Pretty Girls Make Graves — named after the Smiths song

Have a blessed day. Take care, and GOD bless.
