Desktop App: Recent listening history goes blank

After about an hour of listening the information starts to go blank. I have been told to just "clear cache, and restart", but it is starting to get annoying to have to do that after an hour or so of listening, especially when it takes 10-15 minutes to clear the cache and restart. I am running version 15.0.3 on Windows 11.

@piercedfreak To clarify, are you experiencing this issue with our Windows Desktop App?

If so, let's try some troubleshooting steps to see if we can resolve the issue. 

First, try resetting the Pandora app from the Help menu (not to worry, we'll keep track of your profile and collection for you). Press Alt on your keyboard to bring up a menu options at the top of the page, then select Help and Reset App Data.

If you're still having issues, try uninstalling and reinstalling using the following steps:

  1. Locate Pandora in your Start Menu, and right-click to reveal an additional menu. Select Uninstall from the dropdown menu. From there, select Pandora from the list and confirm by selecting Uninstall once more.
  2. Next, find our app in the Windows Store on your device. Search for Pandora in the upper right corner and click or tap Get to re-install.

Please note that downloading any application on your devices requires a Microsoft account and password, and it may be a different email address and password than those on your Pandora account.

Also, we do not support Pandora on unofficial OS releases, like preview or developer builds. We only support Pandora on configurations that we have fully tested, so as to ensure the application will work correctly and not cause any problems with functions of the device.

Yes, Windows Desktop App. I have done all those steps multiple times. As you can see in the screenshot from the play history when it happens, after roughly an hour of playing. When I reset app data, it takes a good 10-15 minutes for the app to respond, and open properly.  This is a constant thing too, not random.Screenshot 2024-02-26 120442.png

@piercedfreak Sorry to hear that uninstalling and reinstalling the app did not resolve the issue.

I'd like to report this issue to our engineers for further investigation. Could you help by providing a little more info?

  1. Make and model of your device:
  2. Mode: Desktop or Tablet?
  3. Network (Wi-Fi or 3G/4G/LTE):
  4. Pandora version (under Pandora Settings on the bottom left):
  5. Windows version & build:
  6. Are there any error messages? If so, what do they say?
  7. Are you able to stream Pandora normally through a web browser like Chrome or Firefox?


Also, are you running a Preview Build of Windows? If so, are you in the fast ring or slow ring?

5. Windows 11 Pro 22H2    Build: 22621.3155

6. No error messages, it just stops showing information, but keeps playing songs.

7. I have not tried in a browser since I can not control Pandora via mouse hot keys unless I have that tab opened, and actively view it.

Thank you for passing the info along. I tried once and it appears to do the same thing in a browser window of Chrome Version 122.0.6261.70 (Official Build) (64-bit)   also. I only tried once though, and it took the same amount of time, roughly an hour.

I just noticed that it does load the information, but quickly blanks it after loading.
