Pandora Update: 9/8/2026

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your patience while our teams worked on this issue.

The community team has received confirmation that a fix has been released for the issue causing the window controls (minimize, maximize, and close) to be missing from the Pandora desktop app on Windows. The fix is included in the Windows Pandora Desktop version 16.1.1.

If you have automatic app updates enabled in the Microsoft Store, the latest version should update automatically and no additional action is needed.

If automatic updates are disabled, or if you’d like to manually check for an update, open the Microsoft Store > Library > Check for updates to install the latest version of Pandora.

Thanks again to everyone who reported this issue and for your patience while we worked to get it resolved.

Hi @imagepro

Welcome to Community!

Thanks for letting us know about your experience with the Windows Pandora desktop app, and for sharing the troubleshooting steps you've already tried. That's very helpful.

I've gone ahead and escalated your experience to our engineering team for further investigation.

In the meantime, could you confirm if the keyboard controls help to close and minimize the app?

  • Alt + F4: Exit / Close Application
  • Win + Down Arrow: Minimizes the currently active window (press it twice if the window is currently maximized).

Thanks again for posting and we appreciate your patience in the meantime!

For any other listeners that may be experiencing this same issue with missing window controls in the Pandora desktop app for Windows, please feel free to post below and let us know. Your info will be included in our internal ticket. Thanks for your patience!

Alt+F4 does nothing. Windows+Down Arrow minimizes the app screen.

Thanks for the follow up, @imagepro! I'll edit my post to remove the Alt-F4. Thanks!

Thanks for checking into it!  The Windows key w/ the down arrow does work in the meantime.

I found that the arrow down key does not work.  If you right click on the top bar, it will bring up a sub menu that will allow you to minimize, maximize, or close the window.  Cursor has to be on that top bar otherwise you get nothing.

I am also missing the top bar, and using right click in the top area to minimize or close.

What I am calling the top bar, is the "ribbon" across the top that shows the controls that are available.

The top border ribbon of minimize, restore down, and close no longer appear for me,.  I will follow this thread.

I just upgraded my computer and reinstalled the Pandora Desktop app.

Oddly, the minus, plus and close buttons don't appear near the title bar now.  I did some research and nothing worked. I tried installing, uninstalling, and reinstalling, but no change.

Any ideas?  Pandora is the only app I have this issue with.

Thanks.

I'm also having this problem.

I have the same exact problem, but I didn't update my computer or re-install the app -- it was already on my computer, and they must have pushed the update within the last 2 days. I thought it was weird that I had to re-sign in again, but I didn't notice anything strange until I wanted to close the app, no X.

Another weird thing, the pop-ups that say the song title on the screen when pandora is not the active window are now PERSISTANT and don't go away unless I X out of them.

Don't you guys test these updates (with real users on real machines) before pushing them out to everyone with no warning??

Yes, same issues here on multiple machines.  Alt -Space does also give some old fashioned screen controls.

A Window's update was forced upon my PC and when I rebooted a large Pandora window is now blocking my Desktop and there  is no way to close or reduce the Pandora window without closing the entire Pandora app - can anyone tell me how to get rid of this pandora window.
