Algorithm—Why not play the source artist or song?

In all the years I’ve played Pandora and created over two hundred stations, not once do I see Pandora algorithms select the very song that I selected to “create station,” no matter what I do to get that song to play. 
Why do you suppose I’d create a station from a song?  

 I like the song that I used to create the station and want to hear it more often.  I like the artist and want to hear the song that I was listening to when I create a station and want to hear it more often.

i don’t want to use another platform and create playlists because I’ve learned so much more from choosing Pandora the way it finds similar songs.  I have encouraged many others to download and subscribe.

i shall continue using Pandora and sharing with other people, so you can make my experience even better by allowing the songs I pick to play more.
