Hearing out of place tracks on station

Martha-bun
Opening Act

I don't know if there's a newer version of this topic... The songs bleeding over to other stations is happening to me. Like another user, I'm thinking about canceling my subscription. Frank Sinatra & Benny Goodman show up on my Three Dog Night. Lots of bleeding between all of mine. I'm afraid to hit thumbs down in case it removes the song from the correct station.

Another problem is, I'm getting head-banging heavy metal, which I keep deleting, but it keeps showing up. Not good when you're playing the station for a bunch of people! It's offensive.

@Martha-bun Check out my reply to your initial report here.

To delete that bad seed from your tablet:

  1. From My Collection, visit your station list.
  2. Tap on the name of the station you'd like to edit.
  3. This will start your station, so tap the the Thumb icon in the upper right corner of your screen to continue to the station's backstage page.
  4. From the station's backstage page, tap on the Edit icon (the small pencil to the left of the play icon) to edit your station, and scroll down to Station Created From.
  5. Remove this "bad seed" by tapping the small (X) beside that item.

Hope this helps!

I'm also having this problem, seems pretty systemic. Maybe roll back a few updates? I don't know, Pandora has only gotten worse over time, which really **ahem** because it's the only service which ever really worked the way it's supposed to.

Station is The Graveyard Shift

Songs its played today are Spotify **ahem** by Aaron Davison

Another Irish Drinking Song by Da Vinci's Notebook

This morning between 8:30 and 9:40.

@Ctedder Thanks for sharing your experience with the community.

I took a look at your The Graveyard Shift station, and was able to see the following:

  1. Spotify **ahem** by Aaron Davison was recommended by a seed that you've added: The Music of Erich Zann by White Stains.
  2. Another Irish Drinking Song by Da Vinci's Notebook was recommended by another seed that you've added to your station: They're Coming to Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa! by Napoleon XIV

Here is a screenshot of where I am seeing the additional seeds that you added to your station:

I recommend removing those seeds if you are not enjoying the song recommendations they are bringing into your station.

You can delete the seeds by editing your station.

To delete seeds from a computer:

  1. From My Collection, visit your station list.
  2. Click on the name of the station you'd like to edit. This will take you directly to the station's "backstage page."
  3. Hover the mouse over the station seed you'd like to remove and select Delete.

To delete seeds from a mobile device:

We'll see. You should think about putting the "Why this track" or whatever it was back in.

Ctedder,

This problem has been ongoing for almost 2 decades.  Pandora has been aware of this issue the entire time, as I've  complained several times back in the days when your could call and talk to somebody -for my efforts I and got a snotty answer.  Pandora isn't going to fix it.  Instead of getting a snotty answer, we now get a person who asks you to jump through hoops with screenshots and emails.   I'm a senior citizen, I don't do screen shots and whatnot, but also realize that's Pandora admitting that their algorithms and genomes are an advertising gimmick and has been since that way the very beginning.  The intrusive junk we're all receiving on our stations is proof.

We're all wasting our time. For reasons of its own,Pandora will never fix this.  We just have to accept this and put up with it, or buy a car wit a CD player.
