I have a Bose portable smart speaker. For the last three days when I tell the speaker to play any artist, it responds that it is going to play that music from Pandora and then nothing happens. I contacted Bose and there are no issues with my speaker. They suggested it is either Pandora, or Google that is having the issue. Pandora is my music service I use with my speaker, I use Google Assistant on my speaker. I have been having issues for several weeks where I would tell the music to pause and it would say something went wrong, try later. I never saw a solution to that problem, but now the speaker will not play music at all. I can play music through the app for Bose on my phone when hooked up with Bluetooth. But my speaker will not play music directly through Wi-Fi, even though it says it is going to play the requested artist.
I have the exact same issue. Did you figure this out?
Hi @machy67
When listening on your Bose speaker are you using Google voice commands to start playback on Pandora? Can you give me an example of a voice command you're using. And does Google acknowledge the command and then nothing happens?
Additionally, I looked at your Pandora account, and I don't see any device connected. If this is happening with a different account, let me know. If it is on another account, please don't post the email address, I can follow up with you through a private message.
Thanks!
After speaking to a few people at Bose, I got one guy who told me it’s a known issue with Google Assistant, not the speaker or Pandora. We tested all 3 and that’s what we discovered.
it took almost a month, but Google finally ALMOST fixed the issue. my speaker will now play music when I tell it, but it will not pause if I tell it, and it will not restart if I manually paused it! Not sure if they will ever fix this
