Ad Feedback - Spanish Ads

This is very annoying. Apparently Pandora has more Spanish speaking listeners in my area than English. I get. Orr Spanish ads than English.

I also have this same issue. I do not speak Spanish and I have back to back Spanish ads that play on my pandora lists. I don't even listen to Spanish or Mexican music because I don't understand it. Can we remove this option from the S24 Ultra? There should be an option for choice of language and in that case I'd like my ads in Navajo.

There should be a better way to report unwanted Spanish ads.  My zipcode has many Spanish speakers, but most of them speak English better.   My solution is to change my zipcode. hope that works.

Here here. Zipcode is a terrible indicator of someone’s preferred language.

I received an ad in Spanish. I was listening to a station called 70s, 80s, 90s Hits Radio on Pandora at 16:14 on 5/28/24.

I constantly get Spanish ads. Nearly every ad is Spanish. This solution is stupid. Just have a frickin language preference and base ads off of that!

These Spanish speaking ads really ruin Pandora for me. ALSO a lot of them I can't even skip! It's like they freeze my whole Pandora app! I'm going back to Spotify until they have an option to turn Spanish ads off

Please advise how you are supposed to send a screenshot of annoying spanish ad if it doesn't even load... Ridiculous

You request screenshots but whenever you go into the app the screen is black so you have no idea what the ad is or if it's in spanish lol. 

setting my location seemed to help.

If any other Spanish ads play on your account, please make note of:

  • the date/time the Spanish ad played
  • the name of the station you were listening to
  • the name of the brand being advertised (if you are able to make that out)

Please stop with the Spanish ads.  I just turn the channel asap.  Don't understand any Spanish and don't want to hear it.   The people paying for these ads are wasting their money.

Two spanish ads in a row on Happy Radio Station at 10:21AM EST.

Two more Spanish Ads at 10:40AM EST> Eggo Waffles and McDonalds. Last Spanish ad was at 10:30AM EST. Images are being sent in a private message

Oh look, another one for Ashley Furniture at 10:48AM EST.

We are currently looking into Happy Radio and why these ads are playing more frequently on that station.

I recommend creating a new station based off of one of your favorite songs that plays on Happy Radio.

In the meantime, I have passed your message along to our Ads team for further review.

Adam, it would help if we knew where to send the screenshot, i.e. a link!!  

This is unacceptable and I am done listing to your Banner Health ads in Spanish on a classic Rock station.

No, I'm not going to work with you on this. It seems like an easy job to do
on your end, you use Google services right? Google will provide you whether
or not the user uses English or spanish. You could recommend them ads based
off that. There's a lot of options, I know so much information is given to
you about your customers. Why are you not utilizing it? I refuse to do your
job for you. Please keep in mind I'm talking to Pandora as a whole, not
necessarily the person that's responding to this. I hope you're having a
nice day.

This absurd request, for listeners to do Pandora's work for them, has been up for over a year.  I've seen several responses and believe that Pandora has received enough responses to build a solution.  

In actuality, Pandora does not seem to care about the impact that it has on their listening audience.  As a result, most of us non-Spanish speaking listeners get so frustrated that we turn off Pandora and move to one of the many other streaming services available.  Spotify, Heart, Amazon...pick one. There's plenty.  All of those services don't play annoying ads in languages I don't speak.  Language preferences are built into devices and software all over the world.  It's a standard practice - for everyone except Pandora. 

If Pandora doesn't care, then be honest.  Say so.  

As I mentioned earlier, you have plenty of data sets by now to build a solution.  Most coders could do this as a basic functionality.  Do something for a change.  

In the meantime; 

The next time a Pandora ad plays on my account:

  • I will switch to another streaming service and forget to try Pandora again for at least a week.
  • I will never pay for Pandora while this continues to be a problem. 
  • All of your Spanish advertisers should be angry that your listening audience is only remembering their product in a negative way.  Thus defeating the purpose of paying you for and advertisement.

why give you an option for English if they’re gonna give you Spanish anyway? Seems kind of moot.
