Artist messaging ads with paid subscription

Cats and yoga

I pay for pandora for the background spa music. Any voice attracts my attention from what I'm writing. This sounds like nit-picking but it's a real distraction for me.  I may have to go to Amazon Prime Music and cancel Pandora...

Thanks for explaining @Schoonerguy !

I checked the Pandora account linked to your Community Profile and from what I see, it looks like announcements you heard are messages made by artists or curators on Pandora just thanking you for listening. You have the option of disabling these Artist Messages to prevent them from playing on your account.

I've gone ahead and disabled the artist messages for you on my end but I'll leave the steps below so you can disable/enable them whenever you'd like from your end.

From your computer:

  1. Click the icon (initial or picture) in the top right corner of the page.
  2. Select Settings, then Content Settings.
  3. Toggle the switch to turn Artist Audio Messages Off, or if you'd like to disable these messages for specific stations, uncheck individual boxes underneath Play Artist Audio Messages.

Hope this helps!

Hi @Schoonerguy , welcome to the Pandora Community!

I'd be happy to help with any questions or solve any issues you have with your subscription or with your stations, but I will need additional information to do so.

Could you explain what's happening in more detail? Are you still hearing ads?
Is it for a specific brand or artist? Are you hearing them while listening to podcasts?

The more information you can provide, the better I can help.

It's the begging for a "thumbs up" by the producers of "Cat Nap" and "yoga" something. I pay for a subscription without ads. I am not subjected to ads. That part is working well.I play the 963 Hertz station while concentrating. At intervals of about 10 minutes a voice comes on asking me to give him a thumbs up. Totally interrupts me. Pandora knows they are pushing the limits so they now display a box to check if "this message is inappropriate"
