So what am I getting for the $4.99/month if I still have to deal with the ads?

@cstarr3 Pandora Plus is our first ad-free subscription service.

As a Pandora Plus subscriber, you also get the ability to replay tracks, listen to 4 radio stations offline, and you benefit from higher quality audio and a longer timeout period.

If you were looking to stream content on demand (such as specific tracks or albums), you will need to upgrade to Pandora Premium.

Otherwise, you can continue to unlock these free sessions of Pandora Premium by watching an ad while still on your Pandora Plus subscription.

Hope this helps!

I am doing a search for a genre, does that trigger the ads for Premium?  Is there another way to go to a genre?

@B-4-Good If you are attempting to stream a genre playlist, then you will be prompted to watch an ad first to initiate a free session of Pandora Premium.

However, you should be able to start a regular genre station without having to watch an ad.

So that I can confirm on my end what is happening, can you please send me two screenshots of:

  • the genre station/playlist you attempt to play
  • the prompt to watch an ad that pops up when you attempt to play that content

Thanks for working with me on this. 🤝

Hi @amvandertie! Thanks for posting to community.

I moved your message over to an existing thread: Still hearing ads with Pandora Plus

I checked the Pandora account associated with your community profile and see that it is not currently upgraded to a paid subscription and has not been upgraded in the past.

Sounds like you may have another Pandora account under a different email address. I've escalated this to our User Support team to further help.

Please be on the look out for their email.

What a disappointment!  Paid for Pandora for years and now even when paying, I am getting ads.  Screw that, canceling today

@rmj007 I moved your post to this thread since you are reporting a similar issue: Still hearing ads with Pandora Plus

It looks like that advertisement you saw was triggered when you attempted to stream on demand content.

Since the ability to stream content on demand is only an option with Pandora Premium, you will first need to watch an ad in order to do so with your Pandora Plus subscription.

For a complete explanation, check out the accepted solution to this thread.

Hope this helps!

I have already given my billing information but it included a 30-day free trial. Now, whenever I listen, it stops after like an hour saying "Your free trial has ended." No, it hasn't, unless it was lying to me when I signed up.

To clarify, it looks like you are currently signed up for a free trial to Pandora Plus - not Pandora Premium.

Because of this, you won't be able to stream any on demand content without first initiating a free session of Pandora Premium.

If you were looking to stream content on demand (such as specific tracks or albums), you will need to upgrade to Pandora Premium.

Otherwise, you can continue to unlock these free sessions of Pandora Premium by watching an ad while still on your Pandora Plus subscription.

I just signed up for the free trial.  If I want to hear songs by a chosen artist I still have to watch an ad.  Also, the songs I've chosen to listen with play but not play automatically.  I have to select play on each song.

Yes, I just discovered that Premium went up.  I have to listen to an ad to hear my playlist now.  Apparantly Pandora Plus is 9.99.   If I want to listen to stations I can without ads but playlists cost an ad before you listen which is super fricken Lame!!

@Naniboo  I moved your post to this thread since you are reporting a similar issue: Still hearing ads with Pandora Plus

To clarify, the price of Pandora Plus is still $4.99/month (plus any applicable tax) - this is the subscription you are currently signed up for.

Pandora Premium on the other hand is $9.99/month (plus any applicable tax) directly through our website.

As a Pandora Plus subscriber, you get commercial free listening on your radio stations, the ability to replay tracks, listen to 4 radio stations offline, and you benefit from higher quality audio and a longer timeout period.

If you were looking to stream content on demand (such as specific tracks or albums), you will need to upgrade to Pandora Premium.

I have plus through Scribd, my account information says exactly that as well, but when I use pandora, it tells me I do not have plus, and have to watch a short video for a complimentary pandora plus. Has anyone else experienced this, if so, what did you do to fix it?

TIA

@Wisely I moved your post over to this existing thread: Still hearing ads with Pandora Plus

To clarify, I do see your account is currently upgraded to Pandora Plus.

Additionally, it looks like you have been initiating free complimentary sessions of Pandora Premium when attempting to stream content on demand.

Since the ability to stream content on demand is only an option with Pandora Premium, you will first need to watch an ad in order to do so with your Pandora Plus subscription.

Hi @amregan8! Thanks for posting.

I moved your message over to an existing thread here, to keep things organized.

It looks like we were not able to automatically renew your Pandora subscription, due to an issue with the payment information on file, so the subscription expired.

If you'd like to continue receiving the benefits of your subscription, you will need to upgrade again. You can upgrade to Pandora Plus or one of our Premium options from the Pandora website.

Then, select your subscription preference and enter your payment method: Credit Card or PayPal. If paying by credit card, enter your card information on the Payment Information page.

Thanks for being part of community!

I just upgraded my account, I tried the re-login method, but still seeing ads. Does it take a day to process or why is it that I am still seeing ads when I want to play a song?
