Good day. For the last few days (let’s say oct 3rd,2025), Pandora has been pausing playback every time I switch FROM Facebook to the Home Screen or even the app switcher. It’s behaving like it’s taking orders from Facebook. Every time I get out of Facebook, I have to go to Pandora to restart playback (the app isn’t closed or crashed, just paused).
I’ve restarted the phone, I’ve also reinstalled both pandora AND Facebook. I’m running iOS 26.0.1 (up to date). This happens on cellular (not sure about WiFi). This is the free version. No error codes, no crashes.

Pandora Update 10/7/2025:
Hi @Patlmac and @Comfy_Blue_Jean
Thanks for posting your experience to the Community!
After some investigation, we’ve determined that the playback issue isn’t exclusive to the Pandora app, and it appears to be affecting other similar streaming services as well.
While we’ve reported your experience to our engineering team, it looks like Facebook released a new update this morning (version 534.0.0.37.72).
Please try updating your Facebook app to this version and see if the issue persists.
Hi @Patlmac , welcome to the Pandora Community!
Sorry for the trouble, could you explain what's happening in more detail? The more information you can provide, the better I can help.
When this issue occurs:
Additionally, please provide your Pandora app versions (Pandora > Profile tab > Settings gear & scroll to the bottom of the screen).
Thanks for your help!
I would like help with this as well. My music pauses every time I switch from pandora to Facebook and also messages. It also pauses when I click to increase or decrease the volume when the Pandora app is not up on top. It just started this the past couple days. I don’t have auto-video start or anything like that in Facebook that would trigger it or anything. Pandora pauses music and I have to go back to the app and press play again.
Hello
the app version is 2507.1.1
The issue occurs whether I’m playing through my EarPod 2 Pros, my Bose Bluetooth speaker, or straight out of my iPhone speakers.
The app is not crashing. It is just pausing whatever is playing every time I switch out of Facebook. To restart playing, I can touch my EarPod (which is one way to unpause playback), or go back to the app and press the play button (which displays as paused). I’ve only listened to stations, not podcasts. But it happens to every station I listen to.
This might even be a Facebook issue, but i have no way of knowing which it is. Thanks.

Good afternoon. -
thank you for looking into this. I knew it wasn’t my imagination!! I just installed the Facebook update (that wasn't there this morning) and the issue seems to be resolved.
I appreciate the responses - it was far more than I could have hoped for from Facebook. Have a great day.
