General issues with Pandora on iOS

If you're having issues using Pandora on iOS (ex: won't load, buffering, crashes when you open, etc.), try the following steps:

  1. Reboot the device by shutting it down entirely, then turn it back on and try Pandora again.
  2. Uninstall, then reinstall the app*: Hold down the Pandora icon on the home screen until all the icons start shaking. Then tap the tiny "x" that appears in the upper left of the Pandora icon, and confirm that you want to delete the app. Then re-install Pandora via the App Store on the device.

*Please note: Pandora Premium and Premium Family listeners may need to re-download some of their offline content after reinstalling the app. Plus users however, should receive that offline content again automatically. If you have any trouble with your offline stations after reinstalling, please let us know.

Also, be aware that the current version of Pandora requires iOS 15 or higher. If you are running an iOS version older than iOS 15, you will need to update your iOS before uninstalling and reinstalling Pandora.

To check which operating system you have on your iOS device, go to Settings > General > About > and Version.

My Pandora App Disappeared

There are two ways to find any app you're missing on an iOS device such as the iPhone.

  1. First, to make sure Pandora wasn't accidentally deleted by trying to install it again. Go to the App Store and search for Pandora.
    • If the Pandora screen shows an OPEN or UPDATE button, then the Pandora app is still installed on your device and you just need to find it.
    • If the Pandora app has been deleted, click on the cloud icon with the downward pointing arrow to reinstall for free.

  2.  The other option to locate your Pandora app is by visiting the App Library on your iOS device.
    • Start by entering Pandora in the Search field.
    • Once you've located Pandora, you can move it wherever you like. Touch and hold the icon with your fingertip until you see the option to add it to your home screen.

If the app is not showing up using after running through the above, check whether you have any age restrictions set on your device. Pandora is "unrated", so if you have some restrictions set, it simply won't appear even when installed.

...Still having trouble?

If you continue to experience issues streaming Pandora after running through these troubleshooting steps, please create a new thread in the iOS space and provide the following:

Could you explain what's happening in more detail? The more information you can provide, the better we can help.

When this issue occurs:

  • Is the app still open in the background where you're able to press play and resume music or do you need to close and relaunch the app to continue listening?
  • Are you listening to a station, album, playlist, or podcast?
  • Are you connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data? If using Wi-Fi, are you able to recover the listening session by toggling Wi-Fi off?
  • Are you using a Bluetooth connection?

Additionally, please provide both your iOS and Pandora app versions:

  • iOS version: (Settings > General > About > Version)
  • Pandora version: (Pandora > Profile tab > Settings gear & scroll to the bottom of the screen)

Thanks for your help!
