iOS: Songs skip without playing

Since the last update on my iPhone 12, the player starts shipping songs at random. They play for 5 seconds and then skip. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app at least 4 times.

@ChristieO Sorry to hear about the trouble.

Could you explain what's happening in more detail? The more information you can provide, the better I can help.

When this issue occurs: 

  • Is the app still open in the background where you're able to press play and resume music or do you need to close and relaunch the app to continue listening?
  • Are you listening to a station, album, playlist, or podcast? 
  • Are you connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data? If using Wi-Fi, are you able to recover the listening session by toggling Wi-Fi off?
  • Are you using a Bluetooth connection?


Additionally, please provide both your iOS and Pandora app versions:

  • iOS version: (Settings > General > About > Version)
  • Pandora version: (Pandora > Profile tab > Settings gear & scroll to the bottom of the screen)

I’m on wi-fi, it doesn’t matter if the app is the only thing open or there are other apps open as well. It has happened both ways. It usually happens when first opening the app, but it has also happened in the middle of listening. I usually listen to a station or auto play. I just played an album and it was still skipping.  Sometimes it will return to normal play after about 30 skips or so, but I usually don’t listen that long.  I just tried toggling between cellular and wi-fi and that worked.

After toggling it played one full song and then started skipping again.

I do find that Pandora plays fine on my iPad but will not play full songs at all anymore on my phone. It was working sporadically but won’t work at all anymore.
