iOS: Streaming Pandora to Lively/Jabra Hearing Aids

ElNifto

I'm having an issue with my hearing aids streaming Pandora.  I have written to the Community but have not heard back.   I stream Pandora to my Lively/Jabra hearing aids through my iPhone SE.  If I leave my phone next to the bluetooth speaker and I walk away from the phone & speaker,  the music stops playing on the speaker and onto my hearing aids.  The music continues to play in my hearing aids when I return to the phone/speaker.  In order to get the music back to the speaker, I have to disconnect the speaker from bluetooth, close Pandora, restart both.  I have had extensive talks with Lively/Jabra, ensured all my settings in Settings are correct.  Lively/Jabra has spolken with the manufacturer of the aids and confirmed that the Settings in my iPhone are correct.  I appreciate your comments.

Adding this comment: this does not happen with other streaming services, only Pandora.

Hi, Thanks for looking into this. I went to the troubleshooter. I
deleted the app and reinstalled. I tested by walking maybe 100 yards from
the iPhone and bluetooth speaker. It did not disconnect. So maybe
deleting/reinstalling the app did the trick. However, here is the info you
requested. Keep it on file and I'll be in touch with further issues.

iPhone SE iOS version 16.1.1
Pandora version 2211.1
Lively/Jabra wireless hearing aids software version 674.674.40

Hello,

I made a mistake. I am still having the issue of my bluetooth speaker and
my iPhone disconnecting when I put some distance between me and the speaker
and iPhone. I thought the problem was resolved, but apparently I did not
put enough distance between me and the speaker/iPhone.

So I still have this very annoying issue of having to constantly
re-establishing the connection between my hearing aids/bluetooth
speaker/iPhone whenever I put distance between me/my hearing aids and the
speaker/iPhone.

Hi @ElNifto 👋

Sorry to hear you're still experiencing this issue.

Have you checked the manufacturer details of the specific device that you're using to see the maximum distance between your iPhone and your Bluetooth devices (hearing aids & speaker)?

Depending on the distance, your iPhone will automatically prioritize the Bluetooth device that is closest to your phone.

If the distance isn't the issue, I did a little research on other forms on the internet and other users suggest checking your Accessibility settings on your iPhone.

To do that:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Scroll down to Accessibility>Hearing Devices
  3. Tap Audio Routing
  4. Select Call Audio>Always Hearing Devices
  5. Then set Media Audio>Never Hearing Devices.

That will keep the media in the speaker and the calls in your ears.

Let me know how that goes, otherwise, you may need to contact Apple or your Bluetooth devices manufacturer's website for additional support.

Hope this helps!
