iOS: "Cannot Connect to Pandora" Error Message

apensa

Although I have used Pandora on my iPhone for years I am suddenly getting a "Cannot Connect to Pandora" "Please  check your network connection and try again"  There is nothing else on the screen and my WiFi is working.  I can connect to Pandora on my Mac and Smart TV.  Any suggestions?

Hi, @Hammerbergm. 👋

Unfortunately, using a VPN while trying to stream Pandora is not currently supported.

We recommend checking if you can make an exception for Pandora in your VPN settings, or if you can safely disable any VPN connections while listening to Pandora. You may want to contact the support team of your VPN for further assistance.

I would recommend running through these iOS troubleshooting steps to see if it helps.

Feel free to let us know how it goes. 🎧

Hi there, @Magdalena. 👋

Sorry to hear that. First, I would recommend running through these iOS troubleshooting steps to see if it helps.

If you continue to have trouble with this, could you tell me more about your device so that I can share your experience with our engineering team?

  • Device & Generation:
  • Carrier:
  • iOS version:
  • Pandora version: (Pandora > Profile tab > Settings gear & scroll to the bottom of the screen)
  • Have you identified any other patterns or notable information?

I've also take a look at your Pandora account, I'm not seeing any iOS devices associated with it. If you're experiencing this on a different device, please let me know.

Let me know how it goes. 🎧

Have done everything above to resolve this issue. No such luck, tried rebooting, uninstalling numerous times, nothing works... Once, the app started up, but within seconds then disappeared with "Can not Connect". I've had Pandora on my phone for about 2 years, and just now this is a problem is now an issue.., why??? I have iphone 12 latest updated version 14.4.2 Seems since I just updated the last version, Pandora went on the blink, or is this just my imagination ?

Here's what worked for me...
I tried all the usual suggestions (rebooting, resetting network settings, etc.). The only thing that seemed to work was uninstalling, then reinstalling the Pandora app on my phone (iPhone Xs, iOS 14.5). But, that only worked one time; the following day, I was back to not being able to connect. I did have a VPN app on my phone (ExpressVPN) but it wasn't active, and I hadn't used it for over a year. So, I decided to go ahead and remove the app from my phone. Once I did that (without rebooting), Pandora started up and ran without issues!
I'm glad to have finally found a solution that works, but I think it's ridiculous that I can't run Pandora if I have a VPN app on my phone that is not active or running.

Thank you. But really From what I have read Pandora is a serious pain in the Chevy trucks. So not worth it to me I will load another App.

I don’t think Pandora is worth the trouble.

Also, are you using a VPN?

If so, using a VPN while trying to stream Pandora is not currently supported. We recommend checking if you can make an exception for Pandora in your VPN settings, or if you can safely disable any VPN connections while listening to Pandora. You may want to contact the support team of your VPN for further assistance.

How do we enable offline mode when there is no network connection? Is the intent to go into offline mode before you lose connection? Because that’s the only way it works for me. Absolutely frustrating having stations downloaded, but not being able to access them after network connection is lost or shut off.
