It has been nearly two months and the only update on this has been "maybe it's a Samsung issue"? I am still regularly getting the Pandora app appearing with a song queued ready for me to press play when I did not have the app open, and sometimes it reappears 2-3 times immediately after clearing it! Samsung Galaxy s20 FE Android 13 Pandora 2308.1.1   Player notification is still popping up silently at random times. I don't see it until I open the notifications area to dismiss other notifications and then it's sitting there on top waiting in ambush. Replying here so I can follow the new thread: I was in the other thread with Pandora actually launching itself when it wasn't running at all, including immediately after reboot, and playing music randomly. That bug got fixed with the latest update, but the Pandora notification randomly resurrecting itself (again, without the app running in the background) and sits with two panels: one is "unknown", the other loads my latest Pandora station and waits for me to press play. Which is a lot better than just playing without my say -so, but I am tired of constantly having to dismiss the notification. ... View more

I am now on 2308.1.1 The music does *not* play when I reboot my phone. "If music does not play, can you let us know the following info: 1. Is the player notification for Pandora appearing but the app is not actually open in the background where it can be closed? 2. Is the player notification for Pandora appearing and the app is opened in the background?" My experience is option 1: the player notification for Pandora appears with station loaded and ready to play, but the app is not actually open in the background where it can be closed. I can swipe the notification sideways to dismiss it, but it comes back (still not actually playing) multiple times throughout the day without the app being open in the background. ... View more

Got the app update from the play store a couple days ago, and so far it has not started randomly playing music. Today I tested rebooting the phone, and the music did not start playing on reboot, so that's progress. However, the app DID still launch itself in my notifications window when I rebooted and sit there hoping I'd press play, so I'm not considering this entirely resolved yet. It's slowly rolling out into the Play store. I checked 5-6 times and "no updates available" for me and then it just popped up as available a few mins ago. Installed the update, will see if that solves the issue. ... View more

The last update was on 9/21 and added as part of the "solution" to try to make it visible to everyone: they've got enough data to be able to replicate it reliably, which means now they're able to start working on a solution. From the timing I think this bug was revealed with the latest Android security update, but that's my own speculation. We lowly customers may never get the official root cause I am hoping that we'll get another update in the next couple days with an ETA for how long it'll take to build the necessary patch ... This happens 2-3 times per day, even when I had Pandora closed. Frequently I'll open my notifications and see the Pandora player back up on the screen but saying "no content" or something like that and I just swipe it away to get rid of it again, but sometimes it just starts playing out of nowhere. I do have Pandora set as the sound for my alarm clocks in the morning, but that's via the alarm clock app and this is launching itself when I don't have any alarms set.
