Today, the Nashville-based hit songwriter is releasing some music of his own. “True Believer,” his first single as a solo artist in nearly two decades. The heartfelt ballad he penned for his daughter marks the beginning of his first solo project in over 20 years. The poignant ballad has James’ soulful voice at the forefront alongside delicate strums of an acoustic guitar and soaring string accompaniment. Throughout the beautiful tune that he wrote for his 19-year-old daughter, he promises to always be there for her. “I’ll be your true believer/ The secret place you hide/ Your promise never leave/ I’m always on your side,” he sings on the chorus. Gothic pop/ Trip hop/ Soul/ alternative pop: Waking Up by MJ Cole & Freya Ridings. "Waking Up" by MJ Cole & Freya Ridings explores the complexities of love and the process of self-discovery. The song delves into the narrator's realization of their own feelings and desires, as well as their struggle to understand and be understood by their partner. In the first verse, Freya Ridings expresses her love with open eyes, suggesting a level of vulnerability and honesty. She admits that she needs her partner to accept her without necessarily understanding everything about her. This line could imply that she longs for acceptance and support, even if her partner may not fully comprehend or relate to her experiences. "Waking Up" is a collaborative single by English producer MJ Cole and fellow English singer-songwriter Freya Ridings. It was released as a single on 11 December 2018 and was subsequently included in Cole's Waking Up EP, released on 27 February 2019. The official video for the song was released on the same day. Have a blessed weekend. Take care and GOD bless.
