I’ve emailed with pandora tech support for a year. Every response they say they have no solution but they’re working on it. I had to delete pandora from my phone. Ultimately It’s all a big lie. Pandora has programmed the ap to auto play. They make money by people listening. It’s the only thing that makes sense. There’s no way this issue is a head scratcher for an ap based company. They never fixed this, but they expect you to use the app INSTALLED IN YOUR CAR. It's difficult to do while driving and of course does nothing for people with older cars and cars that don't update automatically. They need to fire the entire programming dept and start over.
