iOS: Pandora auto launches when connected in vehicle

I have googled this and tried everything. When I am done with Pandora and I swipe out of it on my iPhone, and then I get in my car itโs still starts to play. It takes a day or two for it to stop doing that. I have gone into Pandora settings and turned off auto play in my car. I have also turned off regular auto play. I donโt know what else to do. There are no settings in my phone that I can find to fix this. Anyone have any ideas?

They never fixed this, but they expect you to use the app INSTALLED IN YOUR CAR. It's difficult to do while driving and of course does nothing for people with older cars and cars that don't update automatically. They need to fire the entire programming dept and start over. NOTHING works right half the time.

Welcome to community!
Have you tried disabling Launch from Car? From Profile > Settings > Advanced > Under Bluetooth Devices, disable 'Enable Launch From Car'. Then force close Pandora.
If you continue to have trouble, please let me know the following info:
- iOS version:
- Pandora version:
Thanks!

I have tried turning that setting off and it is currently off on my phone. I currently have iOS version 17.4.1 and Pandora version 2401.1.2. Thanks

I have the same problem. I have done all the steps and Pandora still auto-plays as soon as I start my car. I have to then launch the ap in my phone and close it out for it to stop playing. But it does it again the next time I get in my car. There has to be a solution.

@davolk Can you please send me a screenshot of your settings where Enable Launch From Car is located?
From Profile > Settings > Advanced > Under Bluetooth Devices, disable 'Enable Launch From Car'.
Thanks for working with me on this.

It says "You do not have permission to upload images.". Is there an e-mail I can send it to?

You should be able to upload images, @davolk.
To do so, click on the Camera icon located in the Reply box:
Let me know if you continue to run into issues with this.

When I click the camera icon, it has me list 3 different things including "source, image description, dimensions" and then a blank line that doesn't allow me to enter anything. There is no way to drag, drop, or otherwise insert an image. When I try on my phone, there is no camera icon to click on. I'd like to get past this so we can solve the substantive issue of auto play. Please provide an e-mail or some other way for me to provide you with the information you need. Based on numerous other posts, this isn't a new issue for Pandora so I'm sure you have dealt with this many times before.

I have the same issue. I have switched Enable Auto-Start on and off. I have switched Enable Launch From Car. I have ad both enabled, and disabled. The app is closed, car gets turned on and the app plays. I have to turn off my phone then restart it. Sometimes it even comes on after opening up my phone.

Hi @srumbeck
Welcome to community! Sorry to hear this is happening.
Since you've already disabled the Launch From Car feature I don't believe there are any other steps that would help to resolve immediately. I'm happy to pass this along to our engineering team.
Could you please confirm the following:
- iOS version:
- Pandora version:
- Does this happen when connected with Bluetooth, USB or both?
In the meantime, could you let me know if you have you have the same experience if the Pandora is completely closed out (not in the background).
Thanks for the additional details and help!

Thanks for the response...Here are the answers-
iOS version: 18.1.1 (22B91)Pandora version: 2505:1Does this happen when connected with Bluetooth, USB or both? My phone is always connected to Bluetooth when starting the car. In the meantime, could you let me know if you have you have the same experience if the Pandora is completely closed out (not in the background). Yes. When I play Pandora in the house, for example, then close the app completly, i.e. not in the background, it will play in the car. I then look to close the Pandora app and find it not even to be open. I have to open the app then select stop on the music. The only way to "reset" this is to shut the app and restart the phone. Sometimes it still connects though...
Thanks for the additional details and help!
Thank you, Scott Rumbeck

5 years later and Pandora still has not fixed this problem. It is a safety concern and is going to cause a car accident!
