They never fixed this, but they expect you to use the app INSTALLED IN YOUR CAR. It's difficult to do while driving and of course does nothing for people with older cars and cars that don't update automatically. They need to fire the entire programming dept and start over. NOTHING works right half the time.

I can try this but to the best of my knowledge Pandora does not work in my older car without being plugged into my phone with a physical cable via CarPlay. Bluetooth only works for certain things but maybe something has changed. This problem has been going on for so many years nothing would surprise me at this point. Sent from my iPhone

I have a paid subscription but I still deleted pandora app. Can’t take it one more second. I’ll try logging in thru a browser but odds are I won’t be using it much anymore for anything and eventually will cancel.

I almost deleted it today. I came so close. I was trying to work on my Spanish app in the car as I was driving and Pandora decided I was done listening to Spanish now it’s time to listen to their music. But it only did it once so I didn’t delete it yet because I really don’t want to lose all my stations and I want them to fix their problems because I think they’re better than the rest of the guys. Except for their software developers and their terrible terrible customer service. I really think they should stop charging me while the app isn’t working but that’s a different issue.

I am unaware of any solution. It continues to interrupt everything I do when it’s plugged into CarPlay. The main problems seem to be any on Subaru GMC and Jeep. I don’t know why the Pandora engineers can’t fix it – it’s just a little simple app and there’s not another app in the world doing it. It can’t be that freaking hard. So far I’ve hung onto Pandora only because Spotify is so much more expensive and I’ve been building playlists on Pandora for something like 10 years. And I have a really good collection of my own personal music. It happens so often now I just automatically click the little back arrow at the upper left corner of the iPhone screen and move on. It’s not acceptable at all and it does make me wonder if Pandora is even a viable business anymore. Sent from my iPhone

I've already done this five or six times but I'll do it again: Carrier: AT&T (irrelevant) iOS version: irrelevant because it has been happening for over a year thru numerous updates but currently 16.2 Pandora version: 2212.1 (but again it's been happening for over a year so I'm sure this is not the original version it was happening on. In fact I just deleted it and reinstalled it the other day so it better be the most up-to-date version because that's what came off of the App Store) As stated in numerous other posts this happens when I am driving in my car using CarPlay. It is connected with a cable NOT BLUETOOTH because CarPlay in this car does not work with Bluetooth, only with a cable. It disrupts the GPS and everything else while driving, even when not being played, so that it can easily cause an accident and various other difficulties. It is the *only app anyone knows about* that is doing this. Obviously when I'm in my car I'm on cell data not Wi-Fi. This has nothing to do with Siri. I even kill the app and logged out of it and it still keeps opening up when I'm driving down the road trying to look at my GPS or whatever else is going on. It is totally the app and not anything else. I am so upset about this because I've been with you people for more than a decade as far as I know and I do not want to start all over again with another provider but you are forcing my hand with this -- when is it going to be fixed? Or do I have to find another music provider? because I really don't want to but IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO USE THE APP ANYMORE. It is extremely dangerous for one thing and for another thing if you guys don't care enough about what you offer up to us then I don't need to keep sending you money. Just as an example of how poorly your software development department does, when my credit card went bad you just canceled my account instead of letting me know and so I had to start all over again with a new free trial I lost the pricing I was getting and so on and so forth. That is ridiculous. This is the 21st century. Are you guys ever going to get it together? I feel like you're circling the drain as a company and I'm just wasting my time because nobody cares.

Oh please. We’ve been getting this boilerplate for months. You guys have a problem and you need to fix it. I’m seriously considering converting to another music service because you guys seem to be circling the drain, software wise anyway.
This has already been tried multiple times. I just did it again and I absolutely guarantee you it will make no difference at all. We are not idiots - I work in IT for crying out loud — this is not the 20th century we are in the third decade of the 21st century and everybody knows to do these things before reaching out to customer support.

Hey Pandora, listen to what this person is saying! We are tired of being told to change the settings. We have all changed our settings. They have nothing to do with the problem!
He’s asking a great question Pandora. When the heck are you going to address this?
This solution does not work

The link to the step-by-step process is insecure and I don’t know whether it’s OK to proceed past the warning. You need to fix your security settings on that page. My browser is “concerned” and I would have to go through a few steps to override it and I’m not sure that I should. After all, I don’t know who posted this for sure. If it’s a Pandora page, I suggest you fix your security settings. I’m going try to uninstall and reinstall Pandora without the instructions because it seems to me it should be very easy. Pandora is trying to claim that my problems are entirely the fault of my car but 1 million people have this car and nobody else is having this problem so I don’t believe them. It is insanely difficult to operate my phone when Pandora is constantly trying to turn on — it overrides whatever else I’m doing even when it’s something highly critical, and they need to fix the bug. Every other app that integrates with my car works just fine. Blaming the car is a joke. Their engineers should get on the stick and figure this out.

My personal usability testing seems to indicate that it mainly happens when it’s plugged into CarPlay. Though not necessarily all the time. I was able to resolve it by unplugging it killing the app and then plugging back into CarPlay. It does not happen to any of my other apps so it has something to do with Pandora. Sent from my iPhone

I have all auto play options of any kind turned off and it won’t stop opening when I try to kill it. It opens over and over and over I have a fully updated iOS on an iPhone 12 mini. There is no good explanation all of the settings are correct you have a bug that has been plaguing us all for months and you need to do something about it. My settings always have auto play turned off and sometimes it turns itself on endlessly and when you try to kill it it just reopens over and over again. It’s happening right now. I just rebooted the phone and so now I’m gonna have to reboot it again but you guys have a bug. Your settings are not working.
