It seems like Pandora's using bots or scripts or low-paid workers in cheap countries to set up band details. Also, they seem to not care to fix any of the cataloguing info or the quality of the song rips. Nirvana's Nevermind still sounds like a crappy over-compressed rip from 1995 where the cymbals sound warbly and trashy.

Why can't I heart this post? I'm having the same undesirable effect. I was last using Shuffle Stations, and I'd prefer that to run again when I open the app back up, not the last particular station I last tapped into. I'm on the Android phone app by the way, latest versions of course. I mean, if it's shuffling _stations_ then wouldn't the last played station be the one the shuffler last played?! I swear, I don't know how basic logic like this is missed or ignored. It's definitely not consistent.

This issue stopped happening to me, completely randomly, I don't know why. I don't listen to Pandora as much anyway, only partly because of this issue. Considering this, maybe I should cancel my subscription. If obnoxious issues like this get ignored this long when they're still happening to people, maybe Pandora wants them to unsubscribe.

Mm a separate thread? Where? Is this the separate thread? Sorry if I don't remember how all of the various threads from people on the pop-ups have been structured, but this is part of the bigger issue of obtrusive pop-ups getting in the way of usage when going to the app or going to change a station or going to do anything else really when the app hasn't been in main view for a while. If Pandora would stop popping up these full-screen pop-ups, and just make them a bar at the top or bottom (like where an ad would be?), or a button in a corner somewhere... then I wouldn't get stuck like when a button in the pop-up doesn't work, or have to add extra steps to me just doing basic stuff regularly, which Spotify and Apple Music and Amazon Music don't do. Maybe Pandora management doesn't care and thinks they make more money by annoying users this way, but it's really causing me to use other apps more often, and eventually I'm not gonna pay to be harassed.

I got the Update pop-up just now, and tapping the Update button just re-opens the app, it doesn't go the Play app store or anything like that... so I'm not sure why it's popping up or what the button is supposed to do. This adds pointlessness on top of an excessively large and obtrusive notification.

@AdamPandora I know the screenshot isn't an ad... I didn't say it was. I didn't say any of the pop-ups I'm seeing are ads. I've clarified that they're not 3rd-party ads, they are pandora pop-ups. This means from pandora.
This issue is driving me crazy. Almost every time I open pandora or wake up the screen to change something in the app, I'm assaulted by another pandora pop-up covering the screen telling me something I don't need to know or don't care about.
These pop-ups don't need to cover the whole screen or even a majority of the interface... They can be a little rectangular box at the top or bottom of the screen and be completely noticeable and not in the way of everything (please tell your ui people this). I usually don't do anything with these pop-ups because they're usually not useful at the time anyway, but I can't tell the app to disable each one or just get it to take no for an answer.
These are really ruining my experience with pandora. Spotify doesn't do this. Apple music doesn't do this. Only pandora. Why?!
Please tell your managers and developers and marketers that this is getting in the way of a good user experience with your app. It needs to stop or be handled differently. I'm not aware of any other app I use that does this frequently, and most of them don't do it this way at all.
Here's one of the pop-ups (note that it's from Pandora):
Here's my subscription:

There used to be a way to do this... Pandora apparently removed it because they were annoyed by people reporting problems with their song rips? I don't understand. Pandora should be caring the most about their song quality considering all of the competition and how their rips sound fine. Nobody wants to pay for low-quality rips.
"the most comprehensive analysis of music ever undertaken" is made by and for Pandora... it according to Pandora should know better than any other, so yes, above all others we can fault that system.

Yes, I'm logged into my Plus account on all devices... if I wasn't, I'd be hearing ads between a bunch of songs, but I don't. The problem isn't ads though, it's Pandora's pop-ups. For instance, yesterday I just opened the app on my Android 10 device and tapped into a station... and get this pop-up from Pandora; it's not an ad. This one in particular is completely unnecessary because my phone already auto-updates apps. It just hadn't happened to have updated Pandora extremely right away at this time... and it shouldn't have to. They update every day. I shouldn't have to get pestered like this. This pop-up one of about 10+ pop-ups Pandora has made themselves that are not 3rd-party ads... they get in the way of my button presses, throw off what I'm looking at, and happen way too often now.

Pop-ups on almost every screen change now... Driving me crazy
I'm paying for pandora plus ($3.99 per month), it's all I've ever needed (listen without ad interruptions, get unlimited skips, listen offline, replay favorite songs), but recently I've been getting constant pop-ups like "Listen without ads" (start your 30 day trial, only $4.99 +tax/month after... Why is it not recognizing that I've already got that?! I don't hear ads as it is) with a skip trial button, or something like "Find your favorite artists when they tour", or some other "Radio" thing I don't remember, and on top of that I get the pop-up to choose whether I want "My station" or "Deep cuts" or "Discovery" no matter what I select or how many times...
It's infuriating just trying to use the app to either like or dislike a song, skip one, go back, change station and getting pop-ups over and over constantly getting in the way of my screen taps, sometimes causing me to accidentally tap something! Accidental taps are not a successful business model, I'll tell you that.
I can't figure out how to get pandora to take no for an answer. I know how ladies feel now at parties. I'm feeling creeped out at the moment. This feels invasive and ignorant. I'm paying pandora for a service that I like, not for a bunch of things I dislike that are in the way that I can't stop.
Spotify doesn't do this nonsense.
Please just take my answer as my answer.

I'm not seeing how to attach a screenshot here, but in the Android player at least, when using Shuffle (stations), each song doesn't specify which station it's being pulled from, so I can't tell whether to thumbs-up/down it, because there's some cross-over, and I don't like having too much of that because then the stations start sounding too similar when I choose them based on mood. I've reported this so many times over the years I'm beginning to think Pandora doesn't get or care why this matters. Does anyone else dislike this, and when will this basic simple no-brainer feature be implemented?

I've gone through the app settings and I'm not seeing a way to change the default station, nor how to just have it go to the last station listened to (like it used to do), nor how to just have it not open a station but to put me on my stations list so I can tap the one I want.
