I've Googled my concerns and seen numerous threads regarding my issues that always result in the same interaction - OP presents their easily reproduceable issue, and a Pandora employee takes no interest in the root issue by talking around it. Linked playlists are a disaster. I have one radio station I've created where the linked playlist is no longer listed as being linked to it (but still receives most of the thumbs up from the primary station). (Rock Station, for any employee who wants to dig) I had another playlist create two linked stations, alternating which would receive the thumbed up song. (I've since cleaned out this station and deleted it, since I wasn't far in and will simply start over). And while most thumbed up songs reach the linked station, a small percentage do not. There is an absurdly easy fix to this that uses existing infrastructure. The station modes - create a "thumbs only" mode. Boom. There's your linked playlist. Then, add the ability to manually add thumbs. IE - find a song, tap/click on it, go to the menu, add to thumbs up, select appropriate station. Finally, add a toggle for those who want to break this out as a separate item in their collection. Linked Playlists were a good idea with horrible execution. Please fix them or replace them.

I've found that song seeds act as a sort of exclusionary list. If you seed a station with songs, those songs simply will not play. You have to get creative with it. Use a different song from the same album as a seed, then keep skipping tracks until you get to it and thumb it up, then replace the seed and you're good. Also, stations seeded with songs will only play one version of that song. So let's say you seed "Lemon Parade" by Tonic so you can get "If you could only see." You'll only get the acoustic version of it. You need to thumb down the acoustic version, and on the next lap around you'll get the proper version. The more I learn about his algorithm, the more I want to flee back to Spotify. Who came up with the idea of BLOCKING your preferred songs?!

This really needs to be added. I'm trying to get the Sabaton song "Fields of Verdun" on my thumbs up for my rock station. Pandora won't play it even though it's in the catalog. I can play it on demand, but it just won't come up on my station. I've taken drastic measures. I've change the seed for the station to just Sabaton and, eventually, just that song. I now play it on Artist Only mode. Other than their songs that I have thumbed up, I thumb down every song. I'm at the point where it will now only play my ~9 thumbed up songs and a couple of randoms before telling me there's no more music. Just let me add a song to my thumbs up and, when added, let the algo detect "hey, he likes this song, I should play it once in awhile!" And on that note, songs that I use as seeds are songs that I like. As it stands, Pandora does not play seed songs, only similar songs. That's a huge oversight and needs to be fixed. If the solution is to "just make a playlist," I've got news for you. I can do that on Spotify with a larger catalog. Pandora's strength is its radio feature. Playlists are a good side-gig for when I want specific songs, but they shouldn't be the main feature.
