I tend to work better alone initially. I feel a little more open and free to try new things/be creative without the fear of dealing with the instant feedback. 

However when I'm ready to bring something to the table I will collaborate with others.

I'm part of a music collaborative that is bicoastal, so thanks to digital technology we are able to share ideas and produce together with 3,000 miles between us. It's not without its challenges and compromises, but in the end we all feel more fulfilled from working on music together.

I feel you, @HausOfKIWI  - Most of the time, I like to get my ideas out solo and then share them once I "hit a wall".

However, some songs that I am really proud of started from passing instruments back and forth and building off of what the other person did.

I guess both are collaborative lol.

I completely agree with you! I think that sometimes it's good to have someone else to share our ideas with, get their opinion on them, and that way create something much better!
