Android: "Waiting for Connection" error

jeffinjonestown

I have a new android 14 phone, Blackview 8200. I have Pandora on a Samsung and Ulefone already (older android versions). On the new phone, the app won't work. It says waiting for connection and gives the retry and cancel buttons. I went through the troubleshooting and cleared cache and storage and that didn't help. What probably obvious problem am I missing?  Thanks for any help.

Hi @jeffinjonestownsorry to hear those steps didn't help.

It looks like you contacted us through email  too. The agent that is attending you will follow up with you, please check your inbox for his reply.

I would also recommend you to share with them the following information:

  • Carrier:
  • Android version (Settings > About Phone):
  • Build number (Settings > About Phone):
  • Android Security Patch Level, if noted on your device (Settings > About Phone):
  • Pandora version:
    • If you can open Pandora, go to Profile, then select Settings. Scroll to the bottom of the screen for the version number.
    • If you can't open Pandora: from Android Home screen > Android Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Find Pandora

Thanks for your patience in the meantime!

It's been doing this forever. A few times a year for the past 3 years or so I try to install the Pandora app again and this happens every single time. I've tried reinstalling, clearing cache/data, no battery or data restrictions, connected to wifi.  I can't even get to a login screen.  Open the app and get a "Waiting for connection" error with the option to retry or cancel.

App version: 2503.1

Phone: Uniherz Jelly 2

Android version 11 on Google Fi (but using wifi)

I'm having the same issue. I cleared the cache and the data. Uninstalled and reinstalled. I have all updates done. Samsung S21.  It doesn't open. I get an error message "Waiting for connection. Try again?" and it never connects whether I'm on wifi or 5g. I have no issue with other apps.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the community, @lbuck3.

I'm happy to help look into this further. Can you send over a bit more info about your device?

  • Model: Samsung S21
  • Carrier:
  • Android version (Settings > About Phone):
  • Pandora version:
    • If you can open Pandora, go to Profile, then select Settings. Scroll to the bottom of the screen for the version number.
    • If you can't open Pandora: from Android Home screen > Android Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Find Pandora

Additionally, can you please send me a screenshot of the error message you are seeing?

(Please note you won't be able to attach images via email - you will need to open this Community link in a web browser in order to provide attachments)

Thanks for working with me on this.
