Hi @Goon! Thanks for posting

Could you provide the following information so I can investigate?

  1. If you have an aftermarket stereo, what is the make and model of that device?
  2. Can you tell me the Pandora app version (let me know if you need help finding that)?
  3. How is your smartphone connected to your car? (Bluetooth, USB)
  4. Is your vehicle equipped with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay?
  5. Have you experienced this issue only when in the car, or also when listening on your phone outside the car?

Let me know and I'll be happy to follow up.

Using Bluetooth to connect, factory radio does not have apple play or Android auto. Music streaming but no sound. Did work when phone was first paired but no sound after restarting vehicle. Issue only in this vehicle.

@Goon Have you disconnected and then reconnected your bluetooth association yet? If not, let's give that a go.

To remove the pairing, please go into the Bluetooth settings menu on your phone, find the appropriate connection, and select "Forget this device."

I would recommend checking the owners manual for the best way to reconnect your phone with bluetooth.

If you continue to have trouble, can you let me know the Pandora version you're on?

I also started having lots of Bluetooth issues, too. If I get in the car it will come on fine. I drive somewhere , turn the car off, come back a few minutes later and turn it on and the app shows playing but no volume. Phone volume is OK.
As I do, I am on IPhone XR with the latest IOS release.
I like this app, but the Bluetooth issue is annoying enough that I’ll have to switch. Appreciate any help you can give.
Thanks.

Hi @AndyA! Thanks for the follow up.

I've enabled a trace on your account to help us investigate. I'll need you to try and use Pandora as you normal would while this trace is active.

It looks like you may have uninstalled and reinstalled the phone recently but would you mind doing this once more while the trace is enabled.

Can you try the following:

  1. Remove the Bluetooth pairing with your car. Please go into the Bluetooth settings menu on your phone, find the appropriate connection, and select "Forget this device."
  2. Uninstall the Pandora app
  3. Reinstall the Pandora app
  4. Reconnect to your vehicle

Thanks for the help!

I have a 2016 Cadillac CT6.  I just upgraded my smartphone to a newer Android model and can no longer get audio from Pandora.  I have WiFi and an Internet connection.  I am receiving the Pandora broadcast which shows up on my Cadillac Cue display.  I can see the name of the song and the artist.  The music is playing but there is no sound, also no sound from my phone.since the phone signal is linked to the car through Bluetooth.  Is there some special app I need with the new phone?  Why no sound?

Hi @pargolfer! Welcome to community.

Sorry to hear about that. Sound like you're connected to PandoraLink in your Cadillac.  Could you provide the following information so I can investigate?

  1. Is your mobile device connected to the WiFi in your car when this happens? Does the same thing happen when only connected to a cellular connection?
  2. What is the model of your phone? Also, can you tell me the Pandora app version (let me know if you need help finding that)?
  3. Sounds like you're connected via Bluetooth. Do you have the option to connect via USB? If so, do you experience the same issue?
  4. Have you experienced this issue only when in the car, or also when listening on your phone outside the car? For example, while connected to a bluetooth speaker or directly through your mobile device?

Let me know and I'll be happy to follow up.

I'm having a similar issue as well. New Motorola edge+. 2015 Chevy Silverado factory radio. When I launch Pandora from the app on the radio, so it goes into accessory mode on the phone screen, I have no sound. I can see the artist, song, and even the fact that the song is playing just no sound. If I launch it in non accessory mode so it just seems it as an app running on the phone, no accessory mode, I get sound. I like using the app in the truck so I can see my stations. I've tried uninstalling the app and disconnecting and reconnecting to the truck multiple times as well. App version is 2204.1 as well. Thanks.

My Pandora used to work great when connected to my truck. Now it doesn't work at all. I have a Motorola 5G Ace through T-Mobile. I was in the process of looking for a new ph because their service has been getting worse and worse when an upgrade request popped up on my phone. My Pandora hasn't been able to fully connect since then. It says connected, it shows the song, it counts the play time, it changes songs, but I can't get any sound to come through. I thought no big deal I'm about to change phones. I eventually got a Motorola Edge 5G UW through Verizon. I connected it to the truck with the same results. No sound. What is the issue? Please help. Regular radio is the worst form of available entertainment these days.

Hi @mifone!

Just to confirm, this only happens when connected in your vehicle and not with other Bluetooth enabled devices, like a speaker?

Can you send over a bit more info about your device?

  • Android version (Settings > About Phone):
  • Pandora version:
    • Open Pandora, go to Profile, then select Settings. Scroll to the bottom of the screen for the version number.

Same exact issue.  New Motorola Edge -- 2014 Caddy XTS.  When I launch Pandora from the app on the radio, it goes into accessory mode on the phone screen as always but I have no sound. I can see the artist, song, and even the fact that the song is playing just no sound.  I can work-around by listening on "media" setting on the Cue system but not through the Pandora feature on the screen which has all the features .  Please help.

Had the same issue but fixed it today by pure luck. I have the Motorola Edge 5GUW. 2015 Silverado with chevy mylink. Here is how I solved my problem after nearly a year.

1. Open Bluetooth setting on phone.

2. Select chevy mylink

3. Select gear icon

4. Unselect HD Audio

When I did that the sound started playing from the Pandora app on the truck. Hopefully this works for you.

Update on fix. Today I resolved my no sound issue by pure luck on my 2015 Silverado. The issue was in the chevy mylink Bluetooth. Here is what I did to solve my issue.

1. Open Bluetooth on phone

2. Select chevy mylink

3. Select gear icon

4. Unselect HD Audio

When I did this the sound worked. Couldn't believe it was something this simple but surprised me the most is the experts had no answer. Hopefully this works for those with no sound using the Pandora app installed on the vehicle.

Same issues and almost same truck but 2014 silverado.  Worked great for years, now no sound but it's playing on the screen. Samsung s22 phone. I used to restart the phone and it worked but now there's no sound at all. I've unpaired and canceled app, nothing works

Hi @Jbroyles77

Try disabling the battery optimization setting. This can cause performance issues or interfere with playback. You can use the following steps:

  • Open your device Settings and then Apps.
  • Scroll to find Pandora or use Search in the upper right hand corner.
  • Select Battery
  • Next select Unrestricted.

Keep in mind, due to the numerous models of Android devices, we are unable to provide step by step instructions for every device. If you find that these steps don't fit for your phone, please look up the steps to manage battery optimization for the specific make and model of your device and disable this for the Pandora app.

Let me know how it goes.
