Pandora Update (11/22/2024):
We appreciate everyone's patience, and understand that these issues around Apple CarPlay have been frustrating and disruptive to your listening experience in the vehicle. Our engineering teams have been working diligently to resolve this for all impacted listeners.
We're happy to announce that Pandora version 2411.1 for iOS should resolve the following issues with CarPlay:
- Listeners who experience trouble with stations loading in the Recent tab.
- Listeners who experience an error message "There was a problem loading this content".
- Listeners who experience loading issues with songs within a playlist.
- Listeners who experience the screen not automatically transitioning to the Now Playing screen.
We recommend manually updating to the latest version (2411.1) of Pandora by visiting the Apple App Store on your iOS device and using the below steps to update.
How to manually update apps on your iPhone:
- Open the App Store.
- Tap the My Account button or your photo at the top of the screen.
- Scroll down to see pending updates and release notes. Tap Update next to an app to update only that app, or tap Update All.
In some cases you may need to refresh the page in order to see the update. After updating to Pandora version 2411.1, please try Pandora with CarPlay again and let us know if you're still having trouble.
Please use your mobile device in your vehicle only when conditions allow and as permitted by applicable law.
Pandora Update (10.10.24):
This thread has been specifically created for listeners who report receiving the error message "There was a problem loading this content" when connecting to CarPlay on iOS 18.

I am having the same issue since iOS 18..."problem loading content," not showing recent stations, not playing the correct station when clicked on. Seems like since iOS 18 came out, Pandora using CarPlay has been a mess. Not working right. Very frustrating because it has been going on for a while now. I've done the update on Pandora..nothing has improved.

There is no solution so far. How do you downgrade the iOS?
Just so a youtube on it and it is mighty complicated.

We go on road trips and listen to music during the trip, so, it's kinda important to us. So, I had to find my own solution (can't wait for Pandora to FIX the issues) or switch to another service...
Yes, it was a task to downgrade and almost didn't work... I have a second iPhone 8+ on ios-16 and has most of the configuration settings and the downgrade process wants to restore from a Back-up and wants to upgrade to ios-18 during the process OR setup as a New iPhone (ios-17.7) and put all settings in manually... So, i picked the iPhone 8+ Back-up and the process stayed on ios-17.7... Added some missing Apps and a few things I had to tweak.

Greetings... I read in a previous post a few weeks ago that Apple said it's Pandoras responsibility to Beta test and be compatible when ios-18 came out... Apparently Pandora didn't.
I posted about a month ago that Pandora should warn their listeners about the issues.

Spotify is the answer. Pandora and Sirius XM are same company. They apparently are not concerned about Pandora customers. So now they have at least one less.
