The Challenger class steam locomotive is a articulated locomotive. pretty massive locomotive. You can look it up on Google or whatever search engine you have.

Hi, @Trainman_Man200 @cowgirl7094. 👋

I moved your posts from the Introduce Yourself thread over to an individual thread dedicated to trains 🚆.

Traveling by train is by far my favorite mode of transportation. It's peaceful, scenic, and perfect for thinking or just vibing with music. During college, I used to go back and forth between New York, Philly, Baltimore, and DC by train pretty frequently.

Here are some fun facts about trains:

  • The Transcontinental Railroad in the U.S. was completed in 1869, connecting the East and West coasts.
  • The Orient Express was a luxury train service known for glamorous European travel (and mystery novels!).
  • Trains are featured in iconic films like Snowpiercer, Murder on the Orient Express, and Unstoppable.
  • The longest passenger train ever recorded had 100 cars, stretching over a mile.

One ride on my bucket list is the Bernina Express, which connects Switzerland and Italy. It winds through the Alps, crosses viaducts, and offers views that look straight out of a postcard. 🤩

@Trainman_Man200 For traveling, I love regional trains. You get to slow down, soak in the views, and enjoy the charm of the local landscapes and towns along the way. It’s a super chill way to travel.
