Hi everyone!
The bass can be an instrument that goes unnoticed by some people.
However, there are many songs with bass riffs that I love; here are a few that I have in mind:
Hysteria by Muse
The Less I Know The Better by Tame Impala
Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now by The Smiths
Longview by Green Day
Peace Sells by Megadeth
Last Train To London by Electric Light Orchestra
Dark Necessities by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Orion by Metallica
Flesh and the Power It Holds by Death
How about you? What are your favorite bass riffs?
Real bass:
Fake bass, still cool:
In Love - Desired
Turn Around - Rundfunk
As a Queen fan, I initially thought of Under Pressure and Another One Bites the Dust; however, there are few more Queen songs where the bass is worth listening to.
Some examples are:
1. Dragon Attack
2. Crazy Little Thing Called Love
3. A Kind of Magic (there's even a small bass solo)
4. Breakthru
I also noticed recently the bass in the live version of Heroes (David Bowie) and it gives a nice rhythm to the song.
@HunterPandora, here are some great ones as well.
Ramble On (Remaster) by Led Zeppelin.
Another One Bites The Dust (Remastered 2011) by Queen.
Sweet Emotion by Aerosmith.
In The City by The Jam.
Whipping Post by The Allman Brothers.
Dazed and Confused (Remaster) by Led Zeppelin.
Take care and GOD bless.
A bit more modern I'll say
Bury a Friend by Billie Eilish
HUMBLE. by Kendrick Lamar (synthesized bass)
If I am going for the classics or other genres:
Schism by Tool
Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes
The Chain by Fleetwood Mac
@anapvj Nice suggestions. I love Seven Nation Army's intro.
The Cost by killdyll siren by iamjakehill and rightclicksaveit by I think it's bones if you like these suggestions please reply and I confirmed that the song rightclicksaveit is by bones but please reply so we can conversate
Hi @GHXST223 I apologize for the delay in responding.
I've listened to all three songs and I liked the bass tones in each of them.
Regarding the song RightClickSaveIt by BONES, I could also appreciate the simple but hypnotic drum rhythm.
Thanks for your recommendations. If you have more, I'd appreciate it if you shared them. I'll be more attentive to your comments.
Glad you liked them
Frozen by Madonna &sidekick, the cost by killdyll and rightclicksaveit by bones
I would also add Baby Said and Honey by Mรฅneskin. I didn't recall I had collected this song and found it again when I was checking my Collection.
Specifically for Honey, the bass can be much appreciated around the minute 1:35.
Hi @GHXST223 Thank you for recommending the song Frozen by Madonna, I really enjoyed it ๐ถ ๐
And @LeonPandora thanks for recommending both songs, I really like Mรฅneskin and you're right! the bass is more easily heard and imposing at minute 1:35.
If you both have any further recommendations, I'd love to listen to them.
Take a look at this song
The song is called hollow by diggy graves
As a matter of fact take a look and listen to all of diggy graves's songs because they tell a story and that story matches my life down to the minute detail(then get back to me about how his songs made you feel and all the ever so wonderful details) because I am so **ahem** close to snapping and losing my chill and hurt myself in a way to where I can't go back
