Safari: Music Pauses When Using Another Tab

This is annoying.  I am using a Mac computer with all upgrades and for some time now whenever I listen to a song in pandora but then toggle to another window the music pauses.  I though this was a coincidence, however, it is not because the moment I return to the window the music restarts without me pressing play.  Additionally, I have no internet/WIFI signal issues and I am not using any apps that conflict.   Please advise.

@amvitale8 Could you tell me a bit more about what is happening?

  1. If you are on a computer, are you listening from:
    • A Mac or Windows computer?
    • Our website, or the desktop app? If you're listening from our website, what browser are you using?
  2. Is there an error message? If so, what does it say?
  3. Can you provide me with a screenshot of what you're seeing?

Thanks for working with me on this. 🤝

I am listening directly from Mac computer (not windows), using Safari web browser in the pandora website.

When I toggle to a different tab in safari the music pauses at the end of the song (while leaving opened the tab with pandora website actively playing a song).  When I return to the pandora tab there is no error, its just says "buffering" and automatically plays.  This happens every time I go to a different tab, but never happens if I remain in the pandora tab.
