Web: Playback stops with "Something has gone wrong" error

SurfCity
Underground

The last several days music suddenly stops playing and has to be manually started again, there's no continuous playing. Some songs stop midway through and can't be restarted. Anybody notice that too?

@sylred I'd be happy to help with any questions you have, but I will need additional information to do so.

Does this happen with all playlists, or only a specific playlist you are attempting to listen to?

If only one playlist, what is the name of it?

Additionally, are you listening to Pandora on a computer or on a device?

  1. If you are on a computer, are you listening from:
    • A Mac or Windows computer?
    • Our website, or the desktop app? If you're listening from our website, what browser are you using?
  2. If you are on a device, what is the make and model (and carrier, if applicable)?
  3. Can you provide me with a screenshot of the error message you mentioned you're seeing?

The more details you're able to provide, the better equipped I'll be to help.

I look forward to hearing back.

Re: My own playlists don't work<>

@sylred<> I'd be happy to help with any questions you have, but I will need additional information to do so.

Does this happen with all playlists, or only a specific playlist you are attempting to listen to? I have mainly noticed it on these two playlists: My Christian Music and 80s Music for me. Also I have the issue with some albums like Confessio, Citizen of Heaven, and Back to front.

If only one playlist, what is the name of it? Christian Music and 80s Music for me

Additionally, are you listening to Pandora on a computer or on a device?
I listen mainly on my laptop.
If you are on a computer, are you listening from: A Mac or Windows computer? Windows 11 Pro
Our website, or the desktop app? From the website
If you're listening from our website, what browser are you using?
I have tried Chrome, Edge, and DuckDuckGo and all have the same issue
If you are on a device,
what is the make and model (and carrier, if applicable)?
Dell Latitude 7320 13" screen and it is only 2 years old. My carrier is AT&T Fiber.

Can you provide me with a screenshot of the error message you mentioned you're seeing? Here is the screen shot
[cid:703be7d6-e553-466e-b10f-7294e9925c98]

The more details you're able to provide, the better equipped I'll be to help.

I look forward to hearing back.

Adam,  I have had this problem for several months now.  Ever since I got my Win 11 Dell desktop computer.  Happens with Pandora on FireFox, Chrome, or the Pandora app.  But does Not happen on my Win 10 computer.  I have tried all the suggestions for fixing.  But on Win 11 computer still happens after several songs, then more and more often.  Seems to me it is a Win 11 problem.  Any suggestions?  Please help.

It's still happening. I have to decide if it's worth it to keep paying for
nothing, except when driving when it works fine.

We have been having this same issue for months. We use Pandora on a desktop computer to play music, playlists, on Chrome. The play will resume, but only for a short time and continuously stops.

We are running Windows 10 on an Dell computer 1908FP

I switched browsers to Firefox and it works seamlessly. I haven't bothered
to revisit Chrome.

I've been having this issue for a while too listening on Firefox browser on my Windows 11 PC.  It started a few months ago, it will let me listen to about 15 songs before I get that exact error message. I have a stable connection as I'm listening on a hardwired device at work. I am a paid premium subscriber.  I don't understand why there is a sudden onset of issues.

Hi @kiranadia , thanks for posting!

Sorry for the trouble. I've enabled a trace on the account linked to your community profile to help us better understand what's happening. For this trace to be useful, we'll need you to attempt to listen to Pandora as you normally would.

In the meantime, could you share a bit more information about this?

  • What are you listening to (station, album, playlist, or podcast)?
  • Are you receiving the exact same error message as the one in the title of the thread?
  • Have you tried listening from the desktop app or through a different browser?

Let us know!

better done to remedy this?????
Agin, I would rather keep streaming Pandora but it's become
ridiculous at this point!!!!

Hello,

I am not sure if this is the right spot to post this but I have been getting the message: "Something has gone wrong. We're working on this issue, and we'll have things back to normal soon" when trying to listen to full albums lately. It only happens when I am at my office computer- no problem at home via Google Nest or home computer or on my commute home on my phone. I have tried deleting cookies and cache and works for a couple of songs then I get the message again. Any tips? Sometimes I am just in the mood to listen to one certain album (currently the soundtrack to Flow ;-)).

Thanks,

Jessica

Hi @JessicaAndZeke5 , thanks for posting!

Too keep everything in order, I moved your post over to this existing thread since you are experiencing the same issue: Web: Playback stops with "Something has gone wrong" error

We appreciate you taking the time to provide this info. Can you tell me a bit more about your work computer?

  1. Is it a Mac or Windows computer?
    • If you're using Windows, which OS version are you running (Windows 10, Windows 11)
  2. Are you listening through our website or the Pandora Desktop App?
    • If you're using the website, which browser and version are you using?

Thanks for your help with this

Hi @geckomama , thanks for posting.

Can you tell us more about your experience please?

  • Is this only happening only when listening to your Thumbprint radio? Or is it happening to all your stations or content in general?
  • Have you tried using a different browser besides Google Play? Or have you maybe tried using the desktop app?

Could you please try the steps described here

Let me know how it goes!

Hi Maria,

Thank you for replying and moving my post to the right place :-).

My work computer is Windows Microsoft 11, I am listening through the website and it happens with both Google Chrome (Version 142.0.7444.176) and Microsoft Edge (Version 142.0.3595.94).

Thank you again,

Jessica

Hi @JessicaAndZeke5 , thanks for the information.

I understand that you already tried deleting cache and cookies on both browsers, correct? Can you plase confirm if you already tried the following on either or both of them?

  • Update your browser (Chrome, Edge).
  • Turn off extensions, like Disable HTML5 Autoplay, Adblock, and NoScript, or allow www.pandora.com within them.
  • Check VPN settings to ensure Pandora isn’t blocked. Many work computers have VPN programs integrated, so you may need to check in with your IT team.
  • Try a browser such as Firefox.
  • If possible, try to install the desktop app for windows.
  • Restart your computer and try Pandora again.

For more details about these steps please check our help page for Chrome Troubleshooting and Edge Troubleshooting.

Let us know how it goes!
