We’ve refreshed the Pandora Community site to make it easier to connect, browse, and discover. ✨ Check out what's new here.
Songs randomly stop either during or at end of play with "oops, something went wrong...." msg. Refresh button sometimes helps to get going again. The issue never occurs when listening to a Pandora playlist such as "60's, 70"s, 80's hits". Premium sub with MS explorer and Duck Duck o browser.
I see, sorry for the trouble with the link @Lem3 .
If you’re having issues using Pandora in Chrome, many times quitting your browser completely, re-opening it and going back to pandora.com can help.
To troubleshoot Pandora on Chrome:
1. Update Chrome.
2. Delete Browsing Data (including browsing history, cache and cookies):
Click the three vertical dots in the upper right corner of the browser toolbar and select Delete Browsing Data.
On this screen, please select All time for the time range, and then click on Delete Data.
Restart the browser and go back to pandora.com.
3. Allow pop-ups for Pandora:
Click the three vertical dots in the upper right and select Settings.
Under Privacy and security, select Site Settings.
Click Pop-ups and redirects.
Under Allowed to send pop-ups and use redirects, check if pandora.com is listed. If not, click Add, enter https://www.pandora.com.
4. Turn off extensions:
Disable HTML5 Autoplay, Adblock, and NoScript, or allow www.pandora.com within them. by visiting chrome://extensions/ on your web browser.
5. Check your VPN settings to ensure Pandora isn’t blocked.
6. Try a different browser.
Using a different browser such as Firefox may help.
7. Restart your computer and try Pandora again.
Let me know how it goes.
I thought this was MY computer's issue! Thank you for posting about this problem because the same thing happens to me on my desktop. It started probably 6 months ago. Happened twice today. Last time I refreshed and nothing happened. That usually solves the problem...but only temporally.
I've been a customer since 2013, have too many stations and lists to count and I think I'm still paying the same price as 2013 so I LOVE Pandora. I'm set in my ways about my music.
This hopefully will help them see it is a Pandora-Problem if everyone comes forward with the same issue.
@jdolney30 Welcome to Community!
Sorry to hear you've been having troubles. Could you tell me a bit more about what you're experiencing?
1. What browser are you using?
2. Have you tried a different browser? Or is it happening on all browsers?
I look forward to hearing back.
Hi @JoeD1 !
Thanks for posting, first, I wanted to let you know that we don't currently support the DuckDuckGo browser. To listen to Pandora, please use one of our supported browsers like Firefox, Chrome, Safari, or Microsoft Edge.
We also have a desktop app available for Windows and Mac computers. If you're interested, you can find out more about how the desktop app works here.
Please note that sometimes folks will be able to use Pandora with an unsupported device or service, but that functionality may break unintentionally due to updates to the app or OS meant to address other issues. Which seems to be related to your current experience.
Please let me know if you have issues also when using Pandora directly on Edge o any of our supported browsers.
This is still happening for me, when playing a custom playlist, music STOPS playing after a few songs. This is ONLY on a custom playlist during shuffle.
Playback Experience:
Device Information:
I also... Updated Chrome, deleted browsing data, cleared cash, allowed pop-ups, turned off extensions, checked VPN settings, tried different brower, restarted computer, restarted wifi, connected to a different wifi.
I even... downloaded the Pandora desktop APP and the same thing happened. This is a Pandora issue, NOT user error. Please fix this or I'm deleting my account and going to Spotify.
I have been a user for almost 20 years and there are hardly any issues when I use it in my car or on my phone but when I listen to it on my office computer it does the same thing. I usually just skip the song but it's been doing this rather regularly now. It's getting annoying but I can't stand the other streaming services. Is there any fix?
Hi @brokenpieces , thanks for posting.
Sorry for the trouble you have been experiencing when listening on your computer.
I've enabled a trace on your account to help us better understand what's happening. For this trace to be useful, we'll need you to attempt to listen to Pandora as you normally would.
Would you mind trying again? This will give us a better sense of the problem.
Also, to help us troubleshoot, please let us know:
What you’re listening to (station, album, playlist, or podcast)
And to verify, any error messages you’re seeing, including what they say
And just a bit more about your setup:
Mac or Windows OS
Pandora website or Desktop App
Browser and version, if you’re using the website
We’ll take a closer look once we have these details.
This keeps happening to me.
Playing a station
Website
Firefox browser
Sometimes can resume, sometimes can't. But the point of a station is to auto play and not have to check on my background noise every three minutes.
Thinkpadx1
Windows 11
will not play my music
I have premium, playing only on one device, it is a desktop with ethernet cable connected to premium internet.
I frequently get the error.
Doesn't matter if it is collected song, playlist, station, etc it happens all day.
Really frustrating!
Hi @delexies , thanks for posting.
I can see that you also have a case opened with our support team.
I have passed the information you shared here with us with the agent that's currently working on your case.
They will follow up ASAP with you through email so keep an eye on your email inbox for their email.
Thanks for sharing!
Why are the earlier complaints not getting responses?
They are not, I have had no communication other than it's been passed on. I'm lucky if it plays music for 30 minutes striaght.
I've been on pandora for since 2014, my wife since 2008, this is kinda crappy level of service, in addition hard to get someone to communicate with about the situation.
And as I typed this it happened again!
Today it's every 15 minutes.
Doesn't matter if I am home or work. incognito or normal. chrome or edge. It happens.
What you’re listening to (station, album, playlist, or podcast) - My collection of music it happens on random songs.
And to verify, any error messages you’re seeing, including what they say - Something like "there's been an error we'll be fixing it"
And just a bit more about your setup:
Mac or Windows OS - Windows
Pandora website or Desktop App - Pandora website
Browser and version, if you’re using the website Chrome Version 145.0.7632.117 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Thanks for explaining @brokenpieces .
Can you please try the steps described here?
Specially the update part as it seems like it is running in an older chrome version. Here you can see if there's any update available for you.
Let me know how it goes.
I'm just chiming in here to say that I'm having the same sort of problem. It only became seriously annoying in recent months, and it's getting worse. I have Premium, using the Brave browser, which is a Chrome variant, and it's up to date. Windows 10 and a wired net connection. Exactly as others have noted, it is ***ONLY*** Pandora that's doing this.
I listen almost exclusively to albums. A lot of it is ambient music that I play while I work. For the past several months Pandora has not once played an entire album without stopping. Sometimes it's the "Something went wrong" message, more often playback just stops. I'm experimenting right now with listening to stations, and they don't seem to have the problem as often. I think that's significant.
Also, in Pandora settings I turned off the "highest quality audio" toggle, and that did not fix the symptoms, although it may have improved them somewhat.
Don't bother telling me to switch or update browsers, check settings, check connection, etc. I repeat, it's only Pandora that has the problem, my setup has not changed for a couple of years, and the problem began fairly recently. And has gotten worse.
Like several other people, I am seriously considering dropping Pandora in favor of some other service. Which I really don't want to do, as I love Pandora. I chose it over Spotify because I hated the Spotify user interface.
Hi @downside , thanks for posting.
Unfortunately we don't currently support Brave browser. I understand you don't want to try a different browser, but to listen to Pandora, I have to ask you to please use one of our supported browsers like Firefox, Chrome, Safari, or Microsoft Edge.
We also have a desktop app available for Windows and Mac computers.
If you're interested, you can find out more about how the desktop app works here.
Hope this helps.
I've had a premium subscription for three years now, and in the last six months or so I'll be listening to music and after a song or two the stream will stop and I'll get the above error message. I'll have to reload the site (in Chrome or Firefox when on computer) or my iOS app, and I'll get to listen to another song or two before it happens again. This is really frustrating and will have to cancel my subscription if this doesn't stop happening.
