long songs stopping short and restarting

Its nearly impossible to enjoy Pink Floyd using the desktop app.   Any song longer than about 8 minutes will eventually stop short and then restart the song.

It has been this way for sometime.  

When using pandora thru the browser I often get "we are unable to retrieve that right now, try again later"  or something like that.

@Elcapitan706 Thanks so much for taking the time to report this — I can definitely understand how frustrating that would be, especially when trying to enjoy longer tracks like Pink Floyd.

I just want to make sure I’m understanding correctly so we can investigate this thoroughly. It sounds like there may be one or two separate issues happening, and I’d appreciate a bit more detail to help clarify.

Clarification on reported issue(s):

  • Are you experiencing two separate issues, or is it the same issue showing up differently on each platform?
    • For example:
      • On the desktop app, songs by Pink Floyd longer than ~8 minutes stop early and restart
      • On the browser, those same songs trigger the “we are unable to retrieve that right now, try again later” message
    • Or does that message appear during general browser use, not just with those longer songs?

Device info:

  • Are you using a Mac or Windows computer?
  • Which browser are you using when this happens?

Track examples:

  • Could you share a few specific Pink Floyd tracks (longer than 8 minutes) where you’ve noticed this behavior?

Once we have this information, we’ll be able to take a closer look on our end. Appreciate your help with this!

I have the same problem. It's quite irritating. Oddly enough I am listening to Pink Floyd.

I'm using Windows 10, Desktop App.

The song restarts at the 7:25 mark.

Sorry to hear you're having troubles. If you haven't already, let's try some troubleshooting steps to see if we can resolve the issue.

First, try resetting the Pandora app from the
 Help menu (not to worry, we'll keep track of your profile and collection for you). Press Alt on your keyboard to bring up a menu options at the top of the page, then select Help and Reset App Data.

If you're still having issues, try uninstalling and reinstalling using the following steps:

  1. Locate Pandora in your Start Menu, and right-click to reveal an additional menu. Select Uninstall from the dropdown menu. From there, select Pandora from the list and confirm by selecting Uninstall once more.
  2. Next, find our app in the Windows Store on your device. Search for Pandora in the upper right corner and click or tap Get to re-install.


Please note that downloading any application on your devices requires a Microsoft account and password, and it may be a different email address and password than those on your Pandora account.

Also, we do not support Pandora on unofficial OS releases, like preview or developer builds. We only support Pandora on configurations that we have fully tested, so as to ensure the application will work correctly and not cause any problems with functions of the device.

If you continue having troubles after trying these steps, please let me know.
