Good Wednesday afternoon friend, and welcome back to GSOTD... It has been 7-months since the last posting... Well, I hope you like the choices for today... If not you can always make a request or add the songs to this post and I will add them to the GSOTD playlist, the choice is yours... Enjoy the music...

Electronica: This Wild Darkness (Loaded Remix) by Moby. “This Wild Darkness” is a powerful and introspective song that resonates with anyone who has ever felt lost, alone, or uncertain. Moby’s emotive vocals, combined with the poignant lyrics, create a moving experience that encourages self-reflection and introspection. Through this song, Moby reminds us that even in our darkest moments, there is always a flicker of light waiting to guide us. It is a reminder that we are not alone in our struggles and that there is hope to be found, even in the wildest darkness.

Richard Melville Hall, known professionally as Moby, is an American musician, songwriter, record producer, DJ, and animal rights activist. He has sold 20 million records worldwide. AllMusic considers him to be "among the most important dance music figures of the early 1990s, helping bring dance music to a mainstream audience both in the United States and the United Kingdom".

Blues Rock/Rock/2000's/Eddie: Forever Owed (Album Version) by Blues Traveler. North Hollywood Shootout is American jam band  Blues Traveler's tenth studio album, released on August 26, 2008, and produced by David Bianco, a 1996 Grammy winner. In a notable departure from previous Blues Traveler releases, the album includes a spoken word piece featuring Bruce Willis . This album marked the band's return to Universal Music Group, which owns their previous label A&M Records, and also their current label, Verve Forecast Records  (along with the catalog of Sanctuary Records, another label the band was on at one point).

Folk Pop/Pop Rock/Pop--Soul: FourFiveSeconds by Rihanna, Kenya West, and Paul McCartney.

"FourFiveSeconds" is a song recorded by Barbadian singer Rihanna, American rapper Kanye West, and English musician Paul McCartney. It was written and produced by McCartney, West, Mike Dean, Dave Longstreth, and Noah Goldstein with additional writing from Kirby Lauryen, Ty Dolla Sign, Dallas Austin, Elon Rutberg, and Rihanna. Previewed by West at the iHeartMedia  Music Summit on January 21, 2015, it was digitally released on January 24. "FourFiveSeconds" is a folk-pop and soul song with an instrumentation consisting of an acoustic guitar, organ, and bass guitar. "FourFiveSeconds" received acclaim from music critics who praised Rihanna's vocals on the song. Commercially, it peaked at number four on the US Billboard Hot 100  chart. In doing so it gave Rihanna her 26th top-ten song on the chart, while McCartney set a record by ending the longest break between top-ten singles on the chart. The song also peaked at number one on the US Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Internationally, "FourFiveSeconds" reached number one in Australia, Denmark, Ireland, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Norway, and Sweden, as well as the top three in Canada, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

Have a blessed day... Take care and GOD bless...

Thanks for sharing @MOHLovesAlaska , it has been a while since I listened to Moby. The friend that introduced them to me even had their user name on different websites as on of their songs: Illot Molo, and the one that I used to hear the most was Flying Foxes.

And I loved FourFiveSeconds! I have not heard it. It is a kind of unexpected combo of artists but I really liked it!

@MariaPandora, forgive me, friend, for not replying much sooner. Thank you for your friendly reply and interest in this post. I also love Moby. If you have any requests, please feel free to reply or add them yourself if you'd like. Thanks again for your support...

Have a blessed day... Take care and GOD bless...

Good Thursday morning, dear friend, and welcome back to GSOTD. Today, we are going to be adding three songs. One is a brand-new release by Jazz musician Phil Klein ( @philmobet ). So let's dive in and give these songs a bright spot in your day by giving them an ear... Enjoy the music friend.

G Major/ Camelot 9B/Classical Jazz: Elegant Woman by Phil Klein.  A piece written exclusively for strings played by members of the SF Symphony. An upbeat blending of classical and film music with a video to match its lively mood. Phil Klein is an established composer and keyboardist from the San Francisco Bay Area. With a unique blend of melodic grooves and infectious rhythms, his music is a must-listen for fans of smooth jazz and fusion. The debut album, "In the Hour of Shadows and Whispers," was a chart-topping success, featuring top-notch musicians from legendary bands like Santana, Doobie Brothers, Tower of Power, and Huey Lewis and the News. The sultry soprano sax of the title track features a dedicated following in Italy. Klein's follow-up, "Cruise Control," released on Bobby Caldwell's Sin-Drome label, has amassed over 4 million streams on Pandora Radio, Spotify, and Apple Music.

His music has been featured in hit TV shows like "NCIS" and "Damages,” in Europe with over 10,000 airings on The Weather Channel. His work extends beyond the realm of jazz as he has arranged three orchestral pieces: "Avinu Malkeinu," "Hatikvah," and "Kol Nidre and Variations," showcasing his versatility. He recently collaborated with Brazilian guitar virtuoso, Itaiguara Brandão, creating a fusion of jazz and Latin rhythms on “Sparks and Fascination.” If you're a fan of smooth jazz, fusion, or orchestral music you’ll find the melodies to be infectious and played with impeccable musicianship. Happy listening.

Contemporary R&B: Karma by Queen Naija. In the song, Naija directly addresses her ex-lover, who broke her heart. What hurt Naija most was the fact that she loved him and always stood by his side through rough times. However, when the good times came, he wasted no time in dumping her and going for someone else. Naija, apparently got very hurt by the actions of her ex, wishes that life ends up paying him in his coin. Simply put, she prays that the bad things he did to her come back to haunt him.

Front Porch Singin'/Country/ Country Gospel: Promised Land by The Oak Ridge Boys

There were songs that only Joe Bonsall could sing.

One of those songs was a song called "Promised Land" which found a home on The Oak Ridge Boys’ 2021 album Front Porch Singin. The gorgeously worded and delivered song that begins with the line — don't weep for me when I'm dead and gone, for I'll just be going home now seems to be reverberating in the hearts of those who loved the late tenor vocalist. "'Promised Land' is a great example of Joe Bonsall's ability to capture the message of a great song and communicate that message to the listener," Richard Sterban, 81, tells PEOPLE of the talents of his friend and The Oak Ridge Boys bandmate, who died on July 9 from complications of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). "His performance is unforgettable."

Have a great day friend... Take care and GOD bless...

Good Monday morning, I will add three songs to GSOTD to today's post and Playlist. Enjoy the music.

Christian Rock: CCM: Lay 'Em Down by NEEDTOBREATHE. The song's core themes revolve around empathy, compassion, and the power of shared catharsis. It encourages listeners to confront their vulnerabilities, seek connection with others, and find peace by unburdening themselves. The song's significance lies in its reminder that despite our differences, we all carry burdens, and by coming together and laying them down, we can find healing and unity. GRAMMY-nominated multi-platinum band NEEDTOBREATHE is a dynamic force in rock, who have generated over one billion streams, topped several Billboard Radio, Album, and Sales Charts, and has sold out arenas and amphitheaters all over the world. They’ve garnered two Billboard Music Award Nominations and appeared on nearly every network television show including The Today Show, Good Morning America, Ellen, The Late Late Show with James Corden, and CBS’ Sunday Morning.  Even as the pandemic raged NEEDTOBREATHE continued to expand its fanbase, as evidenced by their 2020 album release, Out of Body.

Country: The Gambler by Kenny Rogers.  Kenny Rogers’ rendition of “The Gambler” also peaked at number 16 on the Hot 100 and number 3 on the Adult Contemporary chart. That is to say, the song was generally popular, which was rare for a country-music tune back in those days. “The Gambler” also made an appearance on the UK Singles Chart and charted in four other countries, including New Zealand. “The Gambler” didn’t chart in the UK until 2007, almost 30 years after its initial release. Moreover “The Gambler” earned both Don Schiltz (Best Country Song) and Kenny Rogers (Record of the Year) Grammy Awards respectively, in 1978 and 1979. “The Gambler” also resulted in Kenny Rogers starring in a TV film entitled “Kenny Rogers as The Gambler” which was a top-rated television movie of 1980. It went on to spawn four sequels which ran until 1994.

Roots Reggae: Three Little Birds (feat. Teni & Oxlade)Bob Marley & The Wailers. "Three Little Birds" is a song by Bob Marley and the Wailers. It is the fourth track on side two of their 1977 album Exodus and was released as a single in 1980. The song reached the Top 20 in the UK, peaking at number 17. It is one of Marley's most popular songs and has been covered by numerous other artists. The song is often thought to be named "Don't Worry About a Thing" or "Every Little Thing is Gonna Be Alright", because of the prominent and repeated use of these phrases in the chorus.

Have a great Monday, take care and GOD bless...
