Grunge: The Day I Tried To Live by Soundgarden. https://pandora.app.link/FensR1bjYeb  "The Day I Tried to Live" was written by frontman Chris Cornell. The tuning, as with many Soundgarden songs is unorthodox—E-E-B-B-B-B. The song has a dissonant atmosphere and is also notable for its use of time signatures. For much of the song, there is a cycle of one measure of 7/4, then two of 4/4.

R&B: U Move, I Move by (feat. Jhene Aiko) John Legend.  https://pandora.app.link/AcgBjyMjYeb   The song "U move, I move" is one of John Legend's best. It's one of his greatest hits.

Classical/New Age: Beethovens' 5 Secrets by The Piano Guys.  https://pandora.app.link/Zvhhq68jYeb  Together we developed the concept of “Beethoven’s 5 Secrets,” combining OneRepublic’s tune “Secrets” with melodies and moments from all four movements of Beethoven’s 5th Symphony. We used 5 different melodies from the 4 movements of Beethoven’s 5th Symphony.

Opera: "O Silver Moon" by Renée Fleming, London Symphony Orchestra & Sir George Solti.  https://pandora.app.link/sNhtWGskYeb  Renée Lynn Fleming is an American operatic soprano, known for performances in opera, concerts, recordings, theater, film, and at major public occasions. Fleming has a full lyric soprano voice. She has performed coloratura, lyric, and lighter spinto soprano operatic roles in Italian, German, French, Czech, and Russian, aside from her native English.

Have a great Saturday, take care and stay safe.

Welcome to another GSOTD for this Sunday. One song I selected for today is a real oldie, but it made me smile from ear to ear, perhaps it will for you as well, it may be exactly what you need for today. It will be the first song. Enjoy the music.

Ragtime/Classic Jazz: Oops by Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong.https://pandora.app.link/2YLtJJZ4Zeb   The collaborations between Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong have attracted much attention over the years. The artists were both widely known icons not just in the areas of big band, jazz, and swing music but across 20th-century popular music in general. The two African-American musicians produced three official releases together in Ella and Louis (1956), Ella and Louis Again (1957), and Porgy and Bess(1959).

Electro: Bring Your Lovin Back Here by Gomez.  https://pandora.app.link/37k92Jw5Zeb  Abandoned Shopping Trolley Hotline is a 2000 compilation of previously unreleased material, including BBC Radio 1 studio sessions, outtakes, and B-sides by UK band Gomez. Some of the tracks foreshadow the band's move into electronic-based music on 2002's In Our Gun.

Dance: Think About You (feat. Valerie Broussard) by Kygo.  https://pandora.app.link/DQPeQdS5Zeb  "Think About You" is a song by Norwegian DJ Kygo featuring American singer Valerie Broussard. It was released as a single on 14 February 2019 and considered timed for Valentine's Day.

Blues Rock/Electric Guitar: Jelly 292 by Jimi Hendrix.  https://pandora.app.link/VCG6tT55Zeb   "Jelly 292" is actually take 2 of the song "Jam 292" (the name on the tape box) which appeared on the 1974 European-only LP Loose Ends. It is an uptempo jam based on Duke Ellington's "Dooji Wooji".

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday. Take care and stay safe.

Good Monday afternoon. GSOTD selections for today will have a rare genre, it is called Jawiian, which is Hawaiian Reggae. And another rare genre is called Burger-Highlife. I will be adding one song from the Jawiian genre, and two songs from the Burger-Highlife genre. Burger-Highlife is a distinctive form of highlife music created by Ghanaians immigrants to Germany. It is considered a Ghanaian musical style. Enjoy the music.

Burger-Highlife: Menewo Mienu Doyi (You And I) by George Darko.  https://pandora.app.link/wjpFZWAP1eb   Highlife Time, Menewo Mienu Doyi (You and I), Mensei Da Indestructible, Bire Bire, Biography: The music of West Africa is fused with influences of Western pop music and rock by Ghana-born guitarist and vocalist George Darko.

Strings Orchestra: Haunted by The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.  https://pandora.app.link/L60HNcoQ1eb   Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO), based in London, is a British Orchestra that was formed by Sir Thomas Beecham in 1946. Until sometime tomorrow, (hopefully) take care and stay safe.

This selection for GSOTD has somewhat of a twist to it. Last night I was watching AGT on YouTube, and I happened to come across the best opera performances by children (kids). This particular video was in 2016 with Laura Bretan when Mel B gave her the golden buzzer for her outstanding performance. I was moved by the performance, so I decided to pair the two together for today's selections. They will be the last two songs added for today. Enjoy the music.

Jawiian/Pop: Impossible by Fiji.  https://pandora.app.link/z4HBXsbQ3eb   In a way ‘Impossible’ is the complete antithesis of everything else on the album, which has a lot of anxiety and confusion about what’s happening on this planet.

Movie soundtrack/Instrumental: The John Dunbar Theme (Dances With Wolves) by John Berry & The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.  https://pandora.app.link/vpOccrLQ3eb  The John Dunbar Theme, from Dances with Wolves, is an American epic western film, released in 1990, that was directed by and starred Kevin Costner. It won widespread admiration as well as seven Academy Awards (Picture, Cinematography, Direction, Editing, Music, Sound, and Screenplay). It also received the Golden Globe Award for best drama.

Dance Club: For Once In My Life by Mel B. https://pandora.app.link/XF4q611Q3eb  "For Once in My Life" is a song by British singer-songwriter Mel B. The song was written by Brown, Tim Daniel McEwan, Lars Halvor Jensen, Gita Lake, and Negin Djafari, and produced by Danish production team DEEKAY.

Soprano: Dear Father by Laura Bretan.  https://pandora.app.link/LVzNHKeR3eb  Laura Bretan. Chicago, Illinois, U.S. Laura Bretan (born April 7, 2002) is a Romanian-American singer and soprano. She was the winner of season six of the Pro TV series Romania's Got Talent, and later placed sixth in season eleven of America's Got Talent, both in 2016.

Until some time tomorrow, take care and stay safe.

I also do this for other music lovers, like yourself. I also do this to try and interact with others here on Pandora. And besides all of that, it is just downright fun to do. So, if you have favorites that you would like to see posted, then please feel free and reply back. I will add them to the post and the GSOTD playlist.
