Thumbs Up songs are now missing

I pressed thumbs up on a few songs on my Android early last week. I was able to play them through My Thumbs Up Playlist while I was at home the entire week. I tried to play the songs in the car a couple days ago and they all disappeared. Now none of the songs I liked last week are there but there are quite a few songs that are, that I did not thumbs up.

In addition, My Thumbs Up playlist has been missing from Desktop for some time now.

I had a ton of thumbed up songs on my main station and almost all them are suddenly gone.

• A screenshot of what you are seeing
• the name of the station with your missing thumb ratings
• an approximation of how many thumb ratings you think are missing from that station

I was able to restore your My Thumbs Up playlist back to your collection for you.

Can you please verify if your Thumbs Up ratings are also missing from that playlist?

If so, can you please send me:

• the names of some of the tracks you know you've given a Thumbs Up to, along with the station they were Thumbed on
• a screenshot of what you are seeing
• an approximate number of Thumbs Up ratings you believe are now missing

I am not sure what songs I Thumbs Up because I did it only last week. I believe they were on "Jungle Bae" AutoPlay. Only missing about 3 songs, but I also did not add most of the songs in the top 20 of that playlist. 

Here is the screrenshot. Song 2 is the only song that is still there from the day that I saved them. 3-6 and 8 were not Thumbs Up, but I can try to remove those on my own

@caballo43 It sounds like you may have an unauthorized user who is accessing your account.

If you are seeing tracks on your My Thumbs Up playlist that you've never given yourself, I think it would be best if we took some measures to secure your account.

I've gone ahead and removed all the devices associated with your individual Pandora accounts. This will automatically sign each of you out everywhere including any devices you currently have, so you will need to sign back in once this change takes effect.

This process may not be instantaneous. However, you should be logged out soon.

I also recommend resetting your password if you haven't already done so.

If you need to change your password,  click here to request a password reset and make sure to enter the email address associated with the Pandora account you'd like to access.

• Next check the Inbox associated with that email address in order to continue through the password reset process.
• If you don't see the message in your Inbox, please check your Spam or Junk folder.

If you continue to see new tracks getting added to your My Thumbs Up playlist that weren't given by you, please make sure to reply back to this thread and let me know.

Thanks for the quick responses. So there is no way to recover the songs that I added last week? Gonna be an uphill battle locating those songs again. Maybe if I try to Listen to AutoPlay on the main song again 😑

 It is Set it Off radio, as for the amount of songs I'd say 10+ although I had so many songs I'm not 100% sure. I know a lot of my hoizer songs are gone and such. Thank you for the help.

@caballo43 Unfortunately, there isn't a way to recover any of those tracks that were removed.

If you'd like to see some functionality added that allows you to restore previous versions of playlists, I recommend creating a feature request for your suggestion here.

My pandora did this a long time ago. I lost tons of thumbed up songs, and there are a bunch on the list that I can't remember. I was so irritated I stopped using the app. Worse, the station has gone from being extremely diverse to playing a limited number of artists. If you can restore my thumbs on my Americana station I would be ecstatic.

@TheBeau Tracks that you Thumbs Up on your station should not disappear.

If you notice any other tracks that play on your Americana station that you know you've Thumbed Up in the past, however the Thumbs Up icon is not highlighted, can you please do me a favor and send me a screenshot of what you are seeing?

I am experiencing the same issue. It shows that I have 747 thumbs up songs but none of them show in my playlist anymore!

1.  Could you explain the rules for anyone other than me removing thumbs-up for a particular song?

2.  Also, what are the rules for how frequently individual songs that I have thumbs-up'ed will be played?

I have been listening to Pandora for 8 years.  I have always kept a separate list of songs that I thumbs-up'ed (your list – for some unknown reason – only has the more recent songs).  About 16 months ago, I started noticing that songs that I had thumbs-up'ed were getting played, but they no longer had my thumbs up.  I started spending a lot of time – entirely too much time, to be honest – trying to figure out what was happening.  Now I know that in the course of a 28-song play history, typically one of those songs will show up without my thumbs up.  I will dutifully re-thumbs up it, but I know after a certain amount of time, even those songs that I have re-thumbs-up'ed will drop their thumbs up.  It is as if your system has a leak in the bottom of the bucket – a sort of planned pruning of my careful curating.  This is frustrating because I assume that my thumbs-up will remain indefinitely and that only I can remove it.

Relatedly, I have been trying to figure out how frequently your system plays songs that have been thumbs-up'ed.  As I have been paying close attention the past 16 months, I would estimate that 40-50% of my thumbs-up'ed songs have not played a single time, whereas others have played more than 60 times just in the last 4 months.  My hypothesis is that your system has removed my thumbs-up, and that almost 50% of my curating is lost.  I re-inputted 260 of those "lost" songs through "add variety," and some of them have been re-populated, always without my thumbs-up, thereby validating my hypothesis at least in part.  If my hypothesis that your company periodically removes my thumbs up is correct, is there an efficient way to recover those dropped songs without waiting another 8 years for them to show up randomly?

@RamblinMan I understand that it's frustrating not to hear songs that you've given a Thumbs Up to on a station, but there's no way to control when or how often particular songs will play on free Pandora or Pandora Plus. Because of our licenses, we have to limit the predictability of a certain song or artist from playing on those services.

That said, for complete control of what you hear on Pandora, try Pandora Premium. It combines our industry leading internet radio service with on-demand listening and easy playlist generation.

Alternatively, you can start a complimentary session simply by searching our library for a song or album, and clicking play. This will trigger a short advertisement, after which you can enjoy content on-demand.

This all being said, if you give a Thumbs Up or Thumbs down to a song on a particular station, it should not disappear the next time that same track plays.

The next time this happens, can you please grab a screenshot of the now playing screen showing the track that is playing where the Thumbs Up icon isn't highlighted?

thank you, Adam.  This is a screenshot showing that there is no thumbs-up on this Leandra Peak song, "wash my eyes," from the "Going driftless" collection.  According to the log I keep, it had a thumbs-up in the past few months, but it has obviously been deleted in some unknown way.  this sort of leakage has been a chronic problem for well over a year.

In case it matters, here is another example, Liz Longley singing "Unraveling" on "Hot loose wire."  This is another song that I know, because of my log, had a thumbs-up within the past few months.
