$12.99 price point for Premium through Apple

I’ve been paying $12.99 + taxes a month for premium for years now. I see it advertised for $9.99 a month and I’ve reached out to pandora about it and I got no response at all, not even an automated response that my email was received and would be viewed. How can I get this taken care of?

@Lauren1979 Because Apple charges additional transactional fees, Pandora Premium subscriptions purchased through Apple are more expensive ($12.99/monthly) than Premium subscriptions purchased directly through Pandora ($10.99/monthly).*

If you'd like to change how much you pay for Premium you'll need to cancel your subscription through Apple, wait for it to expire, and resubscribe directly through Pandora.

You can check out Apple's cancellation steps for more info on how to manage your subscription from your preferred device.

Once you start to hear ads again, you can upgrade to Premium from the Pandora website.

If you have any trouble with cancelling, please contact the Apple support team for further assistance.

I hope this helps to explain. Let me know if you have any additional questions.

*Taxes may apply depending your local tax laws.

Hi Adam. Thank you for finally clarifying why I was paying more. However I am worried that if I cancel my subscription through Apple that all the playlists I have made & songs I’ve got downloaded will get lost. Would that happen if I cancel through Apple and then subscribe through Pandora? Thank you, Lauren

Hey, @Lauren1979. 👋

Happy to help out with this.

Your Account and Subscription:

Please keep in mind, Pandora accounts follow the email address, not the device or phone number. You can sign into the same Pandora account on any computer or supported device, as long as you use the same email address and Pandora password. This applies to both free and paid Pandora accounts.

Downgrading and Resubscribing:

When you downgrade from Pandora Premium to Plus or ad-supported Pandora, you will not be able to access your on-demand music collection or custom playlists. However, your collection and playback history will be stored in our servers for when you return to Premium.

In the meantime, you will have access to all the stations you've created and any podcasts you've added to your account including all Thumb feedback and added variety.

Once you're ready, you can resubscribe through the Pandora website

I hope this information is helpful. 🎧
