@jordan2500 We do our best to balance valuable ad space and the integrity of the listening experience. Each ad is carefully vetted and we only feature ads that meet our guidelines.
Occasionally there will be ads delivered to a wide audience at the request of the advertiser that may not be relevant to each listener who receives them.
Pandora incurs substantial costs in licensing and streaming for every song it plays. In order to provide this service free to listeners, we need to generate enough advertising revenue to cover our costs.
You might consider subscribing to one of our advertising-free options. You can find more information about the additional benefits and pricing on the Pandora website.
Hope this helps.

I am bothered by your ad interruptions, I will use you less.
I totally get Pandora's need for advertising...I mean, I'm not stupid. But does Pandora know that every time an ad comes on during my listening session I immediately and religiously press the mute button? And therefore I never have to be subjected to an obnoxious, in-your-face, glaring ad EVER? We have a choice. But is it the right choice?
noticed advertisement art now covers album art. pathetic.
Does Pandora deliberately seek out advertising that is inane, obnoxious or downright disgusting in order to push people into getting a subscription?
Seems like it sometimes but I don't know.
AdamPandora-I am a free listener considering a paid membership, however, I am stopping listening to Pandora because the Tide PODs commercial.
How's everyone feeling about the no skip advertising? Answer with a song 😁
I like informative commercials breaks related to the genre and the listeners. Ads that are closer to the culture would help drive sales. I.e. what's common to Jazz won't influence well with those who enjoy rock n roll. Instruments, Keyboards, Art, Concerts, etc. that use to be the genius of Pandora. Soweto.
My echo keeps bugging out, so i decided to use pandora to listen to a sleep station instead, though as i was drifting off an ad started playing and honestly scared me pretty bad to where i completely woke up again. Is there a way to suspend ads so i can sleep with music, or would i have to get a subscription for that?
@tayped Nice to see you around the community.
Currently, the only way to remove ads from your account is to upgrade to one of our paid subscriptions.

I'm not sure if this will ever get to Pandora. But this makes me very pissed off. There are very few streaming websites such as music or videos that are not interrupted by site that are forcing us to turn off our adblockers to listen to songs that are being interrupted in the middle of the song by placing commercials and claiming they are free. If I'm Stuck listening to ads so be it. DON'T YOU EVER INTERUPT SONGS TO BUT STINKING COMMERCIALS ON THEN CALL YOUR STREAMING FREE That is NOT the definition of free. As a result, you no longer have any credibility! Truth is, I believe I am already paying for it. So Fix it.
If you didn’t want commercials get an actual subscription, if you don’t want to pay for a subscription, someone is going to have to pay for you to listen for free. That happens via commercials. So you can fix it in just a few seconds, get a subscription.
