Downtown Asheville has always been a fun and fascinating place to be. If you enjoy a college atmosphere, great music, some of the best food you've ever had, at one point Asheville had the most Micro Breweries per capita then any US city, if you enjoy craft beer as well as some of the best Hiking trails around. They even have some fun and interesting shopping in the downtown area. At least these things were true before it was hit hard by the hurricane Helene. It's a strong community with a long history of people coming together to overcome adversity. I'm sure they've bounced back and are in full Asheville mode. If you ever get the chance you should check it out just make sure you're with a group, for safety.
