Android: Bluetooth not connecting

misterno

When I look at the screen of the device, the bluetooth icon is disabled. When I look at the pandora app, the bluetooth option is only for cars

I tried really hard to connect but was not successful. What to do?

@misterno Welcome to Community!

I'm happy to help. Could you tell me a bit more about what you're experiencing?
1. Are you listening on an Android or IOS device?
2. To which device are you trying to connect?
3. Can you provide me with a screenshot of what you're seeing?

I look forward to hearing back.

@misterno I moved your post over to the Android space.

Bluetooth is an OS level feature that Pandora does not have direct control over.

I'd be happy to help with any questions you have, but I will need additional information to do so.

Can you explain your issue a bit further?

  1. To begin, I do not see any Android devices on the Pandora account associated with your community profile.
  2. Have you installed the Pandora app on your phone yet? Or are you logged into a different account on that device?
  3. Also to clarify, are you having trouble paring your phone to the device on your boat? Or, are you able to connect but you're having trouble playing Pandora?
  4. Lastly, can you please send me the make and model of your phone?

Thanks for working with me on this.

1- It was not my boat it was my friend's boat and his phone

2- His android phone has the pandora app but the app does not show bluetooth options

3- We were not able to pair the phone with the device on boat. We turned on the bluetooth on android phone but there was no sign of signal from the device. The device on the boat had several icons most of which are Sirius channels, There was only 1 icon for bluetooth which was disabled. We checked settings and other options but no option for pairing the devices

4- Sorry I dont remember his phone model

Hi @misterno

Thanks for the follow up, and for the extra details.

As mentioned, the Pandora app doesn't actually have control over Bluetooth, this is at the OS level. Pandora uses the Bluetooth connection to stream music from your phone to the device it's paired to.

In most cases, you would need to pair the device, in this case, you friend's Android, with the device on the boat, usually done through the Android settings. Once paired, you can select the Pandora app on the boat device and it should stream through that device.

This also depends on make and model, different devices/systems/speakers have different set-ups. Sorry we couldn't have assisted this time, but if you get stuck again in the future, let us know!
