Android: Crashing when Editing a Station

Hello everyone. Good to see this forum here.

In the last 3 months, every time I want to edit this station to add or remove variety, it crashes almost immediately when I attempt to do so. I get about 3 seconds before the app closes with no mention of an error. I tried reinstalling to no avail, and I'm not too keen on deleting the station as it has taken a very long time to prune it to this stage where almost every song recommended is great both on and offline.

It happens when I try to edit the bottom one but not when I edit the top one. I am using Wifi and my premium subscription is up to date. As far as I know it started to happen one time when I had to miss a payment for a few days.

Have you tried clearing the app data to see if that helps? If not, I would recommend performing those steps: Android Troubleshooting

Also, does it happen with the same variety - meaning when you attempt to add/remove a specific artist or track?

As the first person said, when you have your own station, you then click edit, and then click add variety, and you want to add a band, it crashes within one to two seconds.

I've enabled a trace on your account so that we can take a closer look at what's going on.

I'd like to report your issue to our engineering team. Can you send over a bit more info about your device?

  • Model:

  • Android version (Settings > About Phone):
  • Build number (Settings > About Phone):
  • Android Security Patch Level, if noted on your device (Settings > About Phone):
  • Pandora version:

Are you connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data when this is happening?

Have you identified any other patterns or notable information?

Lastly, if you're still having trouble, let me know what station and variety you're trying to add and I can do it for you.

However, you can do this on your end from your personal computer. To do so:

  1. Click on the name of the station you'd like to edit;
  2. From there you can Add Variety to your station by scrolling down to the Station Created From section. Then choose + Add Variety.
  3. Next, either enter the name of another song or artist or roll your cursor over a suggested artist. Whichever you choose, hover your mouse over your selection and click on the "+" sign that appears to add that seed to your station.

Hello, yep same problem, app crashes every time I hit "Add Variety". Doesn't matter which station. Cleared cache, didn't help. I have a Google Pixel 7 Pro. Very bummed🫤
