All of a sudden, voice search has stopped working. It will respond to, "Hey, Pandora" and open the search screen. When I speak, "Play...", the microphone icon pulses to the rhythm of my words, showing that it hears them. But nothing else happens. Then it usually returns back to the homepage. Yesterday, it crashed and restarted instead.
This is the same non-response, whether I am using wifi or cellular.
I have double checked that the app has permission to use my mic and the voice search is on (again, this started on its own, without having made any changes). I tried clearing all the app's data, updating the app, completely uninstalling and reinstalling, and double-checking it can run in the background without optimizing the battery. I just cleared out more memory on my phone too.
Still no change. Texting and emailing support just sends me back the same response on how to turn on Voice Search. It's on. I never turned it off. Now what?

I've had the same problem and just discovered that it won't work when I'm using my Verizon data but it will work if I'm using Wi-Fi. Can this be fixed? I rarely use Wi-Fi on my phone. Thanks.
It only happens when I'm connected to Cellular data. Everything works fine when I use Wi-Fi. Hope you can fix this because I mainly use cellular data.

Hi @jfixoye
Welcome to community!
Thanks for posting your experience. The information you shared is very helpful as our teams continue to investigate this issue. I've made sure to pass this along.
We appreciate your patience in the meantime.
Mine wasn't working on wi-fi, but after seeing these posts I checked and it is working on wi-fi now, but wasn't before. Only updates that I have noticed have all been Google.
It appears that pandora has no interest in customer service or support. I opened this case several months ago and it has been ignored by their support team.
They contacted me zero times
I suggest everyone cancel service.
I spoke too soon. Now it--doesn't--work with wi-fi, or cellular data.
I think it's these bull**ahem** phones. They only work when you spend a ton of money on a new one. I say we should boycott Smart Phones.
I tried to get mine to work via wi-fi and that was a no-go, too. There WAS an update for Pandora but it didn't fix anything. The last response to my support ticket was that they would forward my info to someone, I think developers. That was at least 10 days ago.
I am also having this issue. I sent in a ticket and my response was a generic copy and paste of what I did in the chatbot. My voice assistant does work over WiFi but not cellular data. But since I only use Pandora in my car it makes it useless.
Same exact thing. Reported 4 months ago with no support and a price hike.
Switched services.
Looks like Pandora couldnt care less. Cancelled my subscription after being a subscriber for over 20 yrs.
I know, it's very upsetting. I have not heard a thing since I submitted the additional technical information. They released an update but it did absolutely nothing.
I am having the same issue. Has anyone found a fix yet?
I have the same problem. AlyssaPandora acknowledged ( is she AI?? ) but offers no hope of a fix soon. So, I will be cancelling Pandora ( which I have loved ) and subscribing to another streaming service which I am researching now. Amazon ? Google Play ? Any advice from you ?
I've been having the same issue for 3 months and I'm about to cancel my subscription. I actually really enjoy using Pandora and its really annoying because when I'm driving I cannot always choose a song and I would rather have it literally pick up my voice and go to the song or the band that I want to hear rather than me having to go through a bunch of lists and then find the exact song that I want. This is supposed to make our lives easier to be able to choose a song while we're driving and now it is become dangerous. Pandora needs to fix this issue we pay too much for it to not work. I might as well just use the free subscription at this point.
I switched to youtube music. You have to hit the mic button and i miss my play list but it does work and im sure ill get used to it.
I did reply back. They sent the same AI generated gibberish that didn't answer my question. The search spontaneously started working again, and now it's stopped.
A couple months after posting (and hearing nothing back from my support tickets), it spontaneously started working. Now, just as mysteriously, it has once again stopped.
Since about January the app in my Samsung Galaxy S10+ will respond to "Hey Pandora" but nothing after that. The microphone image will pulse as if it is "hearing" but nothing will happen.
There have been several updates since then but the problem still exists.
I have seen a wide variety of Android devices reporting being affected by this.
Hands free selection of music while driving is the number one reason I have Pandora.
Hello! I have the Android A51 and I never had this issues with Motorola. "Hey Pandora" works, but it will not hear my voice and recognize I am asking it to play a song.
Having the exact same issue with my S21 ultra for about 4 months. Saying Hey Pandora opens the assistant, the mic pulses to my voice then nothing and it closes after a few seconds. About to cancel my subscription if this isn't resolved soon. A core functionality isn't working and they don't seem to be able to fix it judging from all the other people in this thread having the same issue....
