Desktop: When I hit "play" button nothing happens

Pandora was working fine, then for whatever reason when I hit "play" button nothing happens.  What's wrong?

@katy I moved your post over to this thread as it sounds like the play buttons aren't functioning for you when you attempt to listen.

Could you tell me a bit more about what is happening? Are you listening to Pandora on a computer or on a device?

  1. If you are on a computer, are you listening from:
    • A Mac or Windows computer?
    • Our website, or the desktop app? If you're listening from our website, what browser are you using?
  2. Is there an error message? If so, what does it say?
  3. Can you provide me with a screenshot of what you're seeing? (If you're not sure how to take a screenshot, just let me know and I'll be happy to provide you with some additional steps.)

Hi, I was able to fix the issue by defragging my PC. Not sure this will help you but you could dry and clean and defrag.THX

You can also try using a different web browser to help determine whether this issue is browser-related.

Hi. I have the Pandora app and recently I tried to play a song. The play button wouldn't do anything and the only way I could listen is if I played the station. It wouldn't let me collect songs either.

Can you tell me a little more about your device? Are you using a Windows or Mac computer? Are you using the desktop app or a web browser? If you're using a web browser, can you let me know which one?

I have listened to Pandora on a web browser Chrome for months and months and never had issues. Now all of a sudden, my keyboard play/pause, skip and stop buttons won't work. I can mute it and volume up/down but can't play or pause.

Just to clarify, are you using built-in media keys or keyboard shortcuts when you listen to Pandora from your Chrome browser?
