Ad Feedback - Repetitive Ads

Pandora please, cancel your Tide ad "coffee stain on my white shirt"

It is the most irritating ad I have ever heard in my life, I can't believe how ubiquitous it is in my car, on TV, and the internet.  Literally told my wife to stop buying Tide products because of it, and change channels to try to avoid that corny frustrating advert.  The actor/singer in it should be ashamed.

Or the most annoying ad that CONSTANTLY plays after its self, just saw it? Doesn't matter it'll play again. "Listen to pandora anywhere anytime, on the road, in your home, or by the fire in your home." Always the same ad. I literally stopped listening to pandora and switched to Spotify because of that ad.

Honestly, the repetitive ads are counterproductive to the advertisers.. i have heard ads from cindy at some bank and something with a sniff solo hundreds of times.. and i can tell you i will never purchase their products just based on the saturation annoyance factor.  I don't mind ads, but not sure why pandora cant or will not introduce more variety with ads.  I'm using other streaming sources now because it is so over the top with repetition.

Let me preface this with -- I absolutely HATE HATE HATE with a passion the absolutely STUPID Burger King ads where the idiot sings off key through the whole ad... "BKKKKKKKK HAVEEEEE IT YOUR WAYYYYY"

I listen to pandora daily and am a subscriber. I just started hearing these here now. Why is there no option to "downvote" an ad or say you don't like it so you get other ads like 99% of other streaming platforms? I'm sure you don't care about one subscriber, but I will cancel if I have to continue to hear that idiot in my ear all the time. It's infuriating.

Hi there, @tommyJ716. 👋

Thanks for your thoughts around this. I moved your post over to this existing thread to keep everything organized: Ad Feedback - Repetitive Ads

The ads that play on Pandora are delivered according to agreements we have with our advertisers whose contributions make Pandora possible. Unfortunately, there's not a way to control the kinds of ads that play on your stations, or to stop particular ads from playing. However, I've noted your request for this functionality.

At this time, there isn't a way to rate advertisements during your listening sessions. Another community member would like to see this option implemented and created this idea thread here: Ideas: Choose Types of Ads / Rate Ads

  • You can upvote the advertisement and/or leave a comment to express your interest in having this option available to you.
  • For more information about how ideas work on the community, check out our Ideas Policy & FAQs.

I am a very big fan of Pandora I have been using it for years and years. For the past 4 to 6 months now I have been very disgusted over and over by the content of the ads they have been repetitively playing between songs. I'm not the only one. My family when listening also comments on how gross they feel. This is not like something that is a common ad that you hear. This ad is for pads and about menstrual cycle. They actually talk about  🤮 "gushing".  Omg. Just. EWWWW. The other repetitive ad back to back with that one is all about special body parts to deodorize "down there", "bleep" over name of it... I am to the point of leaving my favorite music app because it is so offensive and gross. I would prefer other ads or to tone them down. Why over and over day after day? Mix it up atleast!  My question is has anybody else encountered this and have they come up with any solution other than to be forced to pay for a premium subscription? I feel like this is their manipulative tactic in order to make you buy a subscription. It's also annoying me that there is no way to contact them directly. Convenient maybe? I know I'm going to get a comment that is very much like comments that they have given everybody else, in which they say that they will "forward this to their ads team", no control over it, (🙄) or pay up. Just stop being vile is all we ask. And so frequently and repetitively.  Whew. Sheesh.

@Pisedofnmadbout I know exactly what you are saying. I am a premium customer but when I see these commercials on TV, I change the station until the ad is over because I also find these commercials offensive as well.

It seems the complaining about the ads is a frequent topic mentioned here. The ads you are complaining about are the very ads paying for you to be able to listen for free. If you don’t like the ads, subscribe and pay to listen for yourself. If you don’t want to do that , then thank the companies that are willing to spend the money that allows you to listen for free. Another option is go try and convince different companies to pay to advertise on Pandora and convince them to make commercials that will make you happy.

Karen is a pejorative slang term typically used to refer to a middle class woman who is perceived as entitled or excessively demanding.  You are the one demanding the commercials don’t offend you and you feel entitled to complain about a service you aren’t paying for but sure , deflect and call someone a pejorative term.

The Sunshine record ad la to go.

The ad where a guy plays a distorted version of “you are my sunshine,” is the most disturbing advertisement I’ve ever heard and it’s in constantly. Either it has to go or I do.  Choose.
