Pandora loses listeners due to the constant ads i mean i paid for the service once and made a mistake and emptied my bank account before pandora pulled their payment out and it bounced the **ahem** out of my account so i cancelled but i like pandora i listen to it daily but what i noticed is it's like they are pushing subscriptions by adding more and more ads and what i mean is this morning i turned it on to get ready to leave and i logged on to a ad but oh well who cares right an after a song started i was like ok cool then after 1 song i get 2 more ads now that's 3 ads in a 7min period and then i got more music but after 2 song's i get 2 more ads so now it's gotten to the point that it's out of control and soon i will be changing platforms now don't get me wrong i don't want to leave but when there are more ads then music itself it's time to leave but i will stick around longer till i get completely fed up

I seem to be encountering way more ads than usual sometimes it plays an ad every other song that's annoying
Pandora has lost me as a customer due to the ads. No one should have to view ads if they don’t want to. There is a United States Supreme Court case supporting this. The fact your app stops ad blockers from blocking your ads is unconstitutional. And against Supreme Court rulings. Stop the ads. Block the ads.
Why does skipping a song usually result in listening to an advertisement?? Seems like a ploy to get more ads in... And does it also have some correlation that doesn't let you get ads with hour free listening? Or should we just use Spotify?
Did pandora do away with the Ad prompts for commercial free hours?? If so I guess I'll have to just close the ap and reopen it everything I don't want to listen to an advertisement

No joke, I’ve been getting 1 ad for every song. I’ve been listening for 25 minutes, got 6 songs, 7 ads. No skipping, no thumbs up or down. Only playing one station. This is ridiculous. It’s unlistenable. The radio is better than this garbage. The ad to songs ratio is way off. I’m going to have to walk away from Pandora at this point.
Not sure who's bright idea having ads every 10 minutes was, but trust me that it will backfire. I didn't mind the ads for freemium as long as it was a fair value trade. At this point it's getting close to music/ad parity. It's too much. I'm finding another provider.
I do not mind listening to ads. But the last two days I have listened to Pandora, I hear 2 songs, and a Tide Commercial. 2 Songs and a Tide Commercial. 2 Songs and a Tide Commercial. 2 Songs and a Tide Commercial. 2 Songs and a Tide Commercial. 2 Songs and a Tide Commercial. 2 Songs and a Tide Commercial. 2 Songs and a Tide Commercial.
^^^^ Do you see how annoying that is. Imagine listening to it. I have had a Pandora account for over a decade. But I am ready to let it go and do youtube playlists instead. Who would have ever thought Youtube ads would be preferable?
Open pandora, first thing that plays is an AD.
Close pandora.
Don't open pandora again when so many other choices are available that will at Least let me hear A song.
Terrible service.
Not to mention 90 percent of the ads are for Your premium.
Why would I support you?
The solution is to move over to Spotify, ads every 30 minutes, not every other selection, Pandora has stooped to a loser app, whoever made this decision should be fired on the spot. Shame on Pandora!!!
This is EXACTLY why I went through the bother of entering this community, to see if there was any insight into avoiding this. Nope. Proctor & Gamble is spending a fortune on Pandora. If it's not the "beep big bargain detergent jug" it's the Gain Flings, Gain Scent Beads, Downy Rinse & Refresh, Bounce dryer sheets literally AD NAUSEUM. And since they play it so much, we notice that a few months ago we were asked if we know that big bargain detergent jug was 85% water... apparently the "leading brand" lawyers threatened P&G because lately it's only 80% water. Please for the love of GOD Pandora at least let us choose to shut an advertiser up after we've heard every one of their ads for the four hundredth time; let us choose to be verbally assaulted by some different entity. Oh... and which genius at Pandora thought it was a good idea to play an ad as soon as I click Play? Does it not occur to you that my finger is near the mute button? And now that I've spent a little time here, I realize that to upgrade is not an option, because Pandora will either continue to feed me ads, or will never cease charging my card until I cancel my card account. Free is NOT free.
Pandora commerical increase
I've used the same Pandora app for years on my smart phone which was used to drive home wifi speakers, through Deffinitive Technology wifi speaker app. Never had an issue for years. It would play 5 songs than would play a advertment, than back to 5 more songs. Suddenly one day I can't create or search for any new channels or music. I'm only able to use current channels which worked fine. No way to update or refresh app without uninstalling it, which I did. The "updated" app now searches and works perfect, except I get 2 commercials after every song. Used to be 1 commercial every 5 songs. Can't tell you how pissed I am this is the new Pandora or that coincidentally my Pandora app suddenly glitched and I was forced to get the new ad filled and manipulated software app! Pandora like so many other companies have over the top abused customers and the greed is enough I'm leaving the platform... discussed to say the least and not just with the mentioned above, but also with the fact that in order to use the app you have to sign away nearly every conceivable right or privacy!
I really enjoy Pandora over competitors and I don’t mind commercials, but lately I am getting 1:1 songs verses commercials. Every 2 songs, I get 2 commercials. Is this starting to become the norm to encourage listeners to pay monthly?
yea im about done with the 2 ads after every song, its just not worth it. and why are the adds SO LOUD?
Has this become an all add, all the time station unless you subscribe?
I am seriously thinking about deleting my account and moving elsewhere. there must be other services that don't blast you with adds after every 1, maybe 2 songs if you're lucky. and then you get a song and 2 more ads. is this a joke? I understand ads on the free side but every song and then two ads, really? another thing that enrages me is the ads are twice as loud as the music. just make it a pay only service already and get rid of the "undesirables" it's obvious that's what the goal is here. that must be why you treat the people who can't afford to subscribe like garbage and try to force them to pay or leave. hopefully they will tell others about the experience. you have to pay to actually listen to music or you will be wasting your time. what good are all the ads then?

I am truly curious, I have seen multiple times how that it’s the people who use the free service that sometimes complain the loudest. If you use the free service , do you feel entitled to complain about service you aren’t paying for? Threatening to leave a service you aren’t paying for seems like an odd approach to the situation. The cost for Podcast to obtain the license to offer the music is extremely high. For example:
Spotify, for instance, has reported to pay 70% of its revenue to rights holders.
In 2018, Spotify paid around $1.8 billion in royalties to music rights holders.
How would you like Pandora to cover the cost for you to listen and cover the royalties for the songs you listen to? There are a few options since you are using the free service. 1. advertising, they have to have enough advertisements to not just cover the cost but to make money, Pandora is a business, it’s not a charity. 2. They could charge those who pay for the service so much that it covers the cost of those who use the free service. That seems not only ridiculous but unreasonable. . It’s never fun to not have enough money to pay for a service you desperately want. Pandora does offer the Plus plan which is $4.99 per month. It isn’t as good as Pandora Premium but it’s cheaper than every major streaming service. All music streaming services have raised their prices and we should probably all expect another increase within the next few years. I hope you can find a solution that works for you.
I've had Pandora on my computers for years. It's a poor algorithm and doesn't get better when I had a year subscription, so I use it for free. On my older computers, it just runs.
I logged in for the first time on the new one. I wouldn't mind a short add break every 20-30 minutes, but it's playing three songs, two ads, rinse and repeat. That's too many. I'll stick to other music options.
I do not skip songs, change stations or thumbs down and yet there are 2 ads after every 2 songs on my free subscription. I have been a subscriber for at least 15 years! It is not 4 ads or even 4 ad sessions an hour as stated in replies to other customers! It is 2 ads after every 2 songs. I always defended pandora every-time someone spoke negatively and tried to tell me spotify was better. Not anymore. If something isn’t done to fix this I will be leaving pandora. Also for some reason I am now hearing about half the ads in spanish. If there 4 ads per hour that would be reasonable!
