Airplay issue when streaming to receiver

When I connect to my iPhone to my receiver via airplay to play Pandora, the music ends when my phone locks and the current song ends.  Pandora will not automatically move to the next song and I have to re-connect via airplay.  I never had this problem until recently.  I noticed the Airplay icon has changed.  It works fine when I'm able to connect with the square airplay icon but the issues arise when that icon is no longer there it it has changed to a circle airplay icon.

Welcome to community! Thanks for sharing those details and screenshots, and sorry for the trouble connecting to your receiver. 

Just to confirm, have you only noticed this happening with your iPhone, or does the same behavior occur with other iOS devices as well?

Does the AirPlay icon seem to switch randomly between the square icon and the circular icon, or does it only change when connecting to your receiver?

I’ve tried streaming pandora with a different iPhone that has thr rectangular AirPlay icon and it works fine. This is how my app used to be. Now, pandora on my iPhone has the circle AirPlay and I’m having problems. Why did this change for my phone and why isn’t it consistent with every iPhone using pandora.

First, I recommend rebooting the device by shutting it down entirely, then turning it back on and trying Pandora again.

If you're still having issues, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app (not to worry, we'll keep track of your profile and collection for you).* To do that:

1. Hold down the Pandora icon on your Home screen until all the icons start "shaking."
2. Then tap - in the upper left of the Pandora icon, and confirm that you want to Delete app.
3. Then re-install Pandora via the App Store on your device.

*Please note: Pandora Premium and Premium Family listeners may need to re-download some of their offline content after reinstalling the app. Pandora Plus users, however, should receive that offline content again automatically. If you have any trouble with your offline stations after reinstalling, please let us know.

Yes, I’ve tried all of this. After reinstalling the app, the first time using it the rectangular AirPlay icon is there and it works fine. When I exit the Pandora app and try it again, the circular AirPlay icon appears in the app and my issues start. What causes the AirPlay to change?
