Apple Watch: Stops playing after one song

qt06550

I’m having trouble with Pandora on my Apple Watch. I use Pandora when I go for my run outside. The problem is that Pandora will only play one song; it will not advance to the next song automatically. Here’s my hardware:
iPhone 13 ProMAX
Apple Watch Ultra
All OS up-to-date
Pandora Watch App: 2411.1, Pandora Phone App: 2411.1

If I double tap my Airpods, Pandora will go to the next song, but I have to keep doing it. This is a new development with the Apple Watch Pandora app. I’ve been running the same route for six months with no issues.

It’s not a matter of buffering; my Apple Watch is linked to my iPhone which I carry with me. This is with cellular data, and I am in a 5-bar service area (VZW). Buffering should not be a problem.

Here’s what I did to rectify the problem, but these steps did not work:
• Removed Pandora app from Apple Watch.
• Turned Apple Watch off.
• Removed Pandora app from iPhone.
• Rebooted iPhone.
• Reinstalled Pandora.
• Rebooted Apple Watch.
• Reinstalled Pandora app on Apple Watch.

I only use Pandora for my run. If you can’t help me with this in an expedient fashion, I will cancel my service with you.

I'm not sure it's strictly a Pandora problem.  If I try to play my downloaded music via Apple Music I have the same problem - won't advance automatically.

Hi @RebeccaTx

From your previous post, it sounds like you tried to run through the steps here but you are still having trouble, correct?

If the issue persists, would you mind providing more details about your devices?

  • Device & Generation:
  • Carrier:
  • iOS version: (Settings > General > About > Version)
  • Pandora version: (Pandora > Profile tab > Settings gear & scroll to the bottom of the screen)
  • What version is your Apple Watch on? (Open the Watch app on your phone and go to General > AboutVersion)

Thanks so much for your help with this.

Same problem. Got a new Apple Watch and phone in December. Pandora will not automatically play the next song. So frustrating at the gym or on a bike ride.

Apple iPhone 16 pro, version 18.1.1

In the meantime I have passed the information you already shared with us to our engineering team.

Let me know about the steps.

I also have this problem.  I have the same hardware and have followed the same steps except I also hard reset my watch with the same results.   It resumes when I raise my wrist and look at my watch.

Of course! Just after I posted I’m pretty sure I figured it out!   This has been going on for at least 4 months.  Anyway,  In the Watch app on the phone change settings/general/return to clock/pandora/ to CUSTOM and at the bottom turn on Return to App.  This been working for me. If it stops working I will post again.

Hope this helps.
